I have an HDHR Prime bought 6 years ago and an HDHR Connect bought 3 years ago. Both have the very latest firmware updates - Release 20190621.

If you’re running the experimental transcoder please make sure you’ve updated to v2019.08.06.0143. I’ve found a bug that can cause the DVR to hang that is now fixed.

I updated to release 2019.08.06.0711 and turned hardware transcoding back on.

No joy - video playback does not start.

I do have an odd problem when accessing my Channels DVR settings. I always get the message that " The Windows firewall rule for Channels DVR is not enabled..

However, when I check the firewall settings, Channels DVR is allowed through the firewall:

Could this affect the attempts by the encoder to access my HDHR hardware if it thinks it is blocked???

Well that problem is back for me. I really wish I could enjoy my TV shows without them stopping and having to restart. So annoying!! I just want to watch TV..

This is getting absolutely ridiculous.

Have you tried turning the firewall off for a bit and then playing ?

I am not going to do that. There is no need. I have went back to "Current" release of Version
2019.08.03.0055 and hope I have better luck. Although now that I am on this version the video quality has dropped, again. Very frustrating.

OK but at least if you were to turn off the firewall and it worked you would know if it is the firewall or a firewall update.

Good suggestion!

However, I just tried it and it makes no difference. I turned off private/local firewall only.

Thankfully, I can still run with software encoding and everything is fine.

At least it appears it is not the firewall but the hardware encoding ... great trouble shooting.

@mike48085 Your issue is related to the Intel hardware encoder. Switching to software fixes the issue because the bug is only in the intel driver. We have reproduced this bug and will have a fix available shortly.

@Jackamus We don't have a good understanding of your issue yet. You're using the Nvidia hardware encoder so your issue is not related to the bug above. It seems to be happening very randomly for you. Before you said it was happening at 10mbit but not 8mbit. Is that still true?
