Hmm, when I click that link I see all the most recent threads in that one subreddit. It's just not very active.

Maybe the terminology I'm using.
I thought https://www.reddit.com/r/videoredo was considered a reddit community
and the individual threads (topics) inside were called subreddits.
Anyway, I was trying to see if I could list all of the posts within that community in descending (newest first) order, like you see at https://community.getchannels.com/latest, no matter which category(section) or topic(thread) they're in, but guess not.

No, a subreddit (like r/videoredo) is also called a Reddit community. Each of the discussions you see on that landing pages are distinct threads. There are no categories, or sections, in that subreddit. It's just one flat list of threads.
I agree Reddit's interface is awful. It's much easier for me to navigate via newest submissions : videoredo
And if you want to use that "old" interface as your default view moving forward then go to https://www.reddit.com/prefs
...and choose " Opt out of the redesign" (Revert back to old Reddit for the time being)

This is looking promising as a replacement for VRD.
Of course, the UI is different, but it does cut VFR (Variable Frame Rate) HEVC w/Subtitles, which VRD can't do. And supposedly works with 10-bit HEVC (which I haven't tried yet) https://old.reddit.com/r/videoredo/comments/1f71j0s/im_trying_to_build_a_modern_version_of_videoredo/ll6rj6d/
Would you happen to know, does it only cut at I-frames or can it do frame-accurate cuts by "smart" re-coding at the cut-point -- like VRD did.
Cut at any type frame and it "smart" re-encodes the GOPs that your cut starts and ends in, like VRD does.

Reguarding Videredo registration - I register all versions manually using the old registrations that were sent to me. Just set your system clock to day of or a few days after the date of your registration message, register the software and then reset date. your software should be registered and work properly.

Although I absolutely HATE the reddit format, this is both bad and maybe good news.
Would be great news if Dan could make a living from a renewed VRD.

I've found that the free version of Davinci Resolve works very well for cuts, edits, dissolves, etc. It's not as user friendly as VideoRedo, but Divinci Resolve is also a pro version and has a great many features.
Curious if DaVinci Resolve can do frame accurate cuts on VFR H.265 1080p without having to transcode the whole file. Examples would be iPhone screen recordings, PlayOn Cloud HD recordings, etc.
I had to replace the motherboard and processor of one of my PCs. Is there any way to get VideoRedo working on it? I've been using it daily for skimming and doing frame-accurate cuts and would like to be able to do it on this new PC as well. If I can't get VideoRedo running what is a suitable replacement?
Yeah...I would even bother with VideoReDo since its abandonware. Losslesscut is a good replacement. Open source and Free so if the dev dies or abadons the project, it can be forked

There is no solution that works as well as VideoReDo. Luckily, I have two computers that already have an activated version, but I have a third that had to have the motherboard and CPU replaced.

I too was disappointed to find out that Video Redo was going away and sad the developer had passed. I used Video Redo for many years. Since then, I've began using some alternatives that are free and fairly easy to use.
For Windows, you can use DaVinci Resolve and Lossless Cut.
DaVinci Resolve is a professional level video editor, even the free version.
Lossless Cut is easy to use just to make cuts, but no transitions. As the name implies, it preserves the quality of the original file and it's fast.
For Linux, there is a version of Lossless Cut and for more detailed or complex editing, KdenLive. KdenLive is similar to DaVinci Resolve.
If you need to recode any of your video files to work with these programs I suggest Handbrake, also available for Windows and Linux and both are free.
