Meanwhile Android TV users are still waiting for beta Channels DVR release notes...
I get the same error as crackers. Sitting in my garage on WiFi
Just confirmed I was able to get this to work in my Model 3. Very cool thanks!
On a side note, since it's browser based, why doesn't it work while in motion? Not that I plan to watch TV while driving but would be nice for my passenger.
No video works while in motion, The video tag is disabled. The full screen function that the MCU does also bails out of full screen once shifted out of Park.
i should point out that somehow this started working for me, at least on the road. i watched several times while supercharging the past few days. i haven't tested to see if it works in my garage now, though...
Can anyone get this to work? I just recently bought a Tesla and tried this, get to the page to login and then get a message "Theater currently unavailable, check your internet connection and try again." I tried on wifi and LTE and same message no matter which one, a couple of times.
this seems to be a random thing, you can see a bunch of us had this issue if you scroll up a bit. eventually, somehow, it seems to resolve itself. not sure how or why, but for me it just suddenly started working one day and has worked perfectly knock on wood ever since. we just used it a ton on our road trip across the country and back...great to be able to sit and have some entertainment while supercharging.
Mine is working perfect with RP4 server, I changed the client buffer to 1 minute, sometimes I need just pause it for 10 seconds to let the buffer fill up. Once I do that it's rock solid on the car's LTE..
Do you have remote access configured properly? Goto your DVR screen on your server and click the support button near your name and see if it passes all the tests.
Hmm, i swear i thought this was all open, but getting the following on the support page:
"Remote Access
Could not connect to 0xxxxxxxxxx0.channelsdvr.net. Check if the port is mapped."
Which port should this be using? i did switch my channels server from a Synology NAS to a Windows 10 server, that could be it.
Remote access requires port 8089 to be open to the internet, and routed to your DVR server.
You’ll also need to verify that the Windows firewall is allowing incoming connections on 8089 as well.
What do you know, Comcast turned off the port forward for some reason for Channels. It was opened at one point since it was turned on my router and I have used channels remotely in the past. My router still had the port opened, I looked at the comcast xfinity Xfi site for port forwarding and yep that port was no where to be found. Opened the port, rebooted my cable modem, router, and my windows 10 computer that is my channels sever and everything remote access worked. Went to the Tesla and was able to get to my channels site and turn on a channel. Thanks for the suggestions of everyone who helped.
This is the coolest thing after playing with it for a few days, that I am able to watch Channels in my Tesla!!!
The weird thing for me is that I get that message when I am on my home wifi but when I am out and try, it works every time.
Did you click on the support here to see if everything was working?

That is how I discovered my Channels was no longer working outside my network.
What I meant is that I get that message on my Tesla when I am on my home wifi. It doesn't do it on any device I use at home and since it works on the Tesla when I am out for example, at a Supercharger, I haven't checked. I will play around with it later to see what it shows.
i had this too when i first set it up, then it randomly stopped at some point and i haven't seen it since (knock on wood)...
has this stopped working for anyone else? the "go to site" link isn't doing anything now for me...it just sits there.
the overall idea still works because it works on a better theater...but on the channels site, nothing happens.
anyone? I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one having issues with this...still not working for me, a few weeks and a few reboots and Tesla software updates later.
a better theater works, so it's not an issue with my car...but channels just won't go full screen anymore.
checking in again...
Ill check tomorrow if it’s working. Are you still having problems?
