WE TV channel issues

WE TV 6089 is very staggery, pausing, stuttering. Does it imedialty upon tune. Not watchable.
The seek bar does not come up. No info in the sever logs

Same problem here maybe everyone wants to watch Law & Order reruns. Heavy traffic on WETV site ???

Working great on the website. Must be a Channels DVR problem.

Streams fine via the Xfinty stream site.

Yeah also the WETV site is playing fine.

Wow... this is super weird. I’ve captured a video of it along with some logs... I’m not sure if we’ll be able to figure out what’s going on, but it sure seems unusual.

tried changing the decoder in the ATV app, no effect.

(that would not effect web UI player, so if a channel has issue playing there, i know its not something with the client device)

It worked fine late last night.
My mother watches that channel alot...lolz.

I am using the WETV app on the same device I run channels client and it plays great.

Please try updating to v2020.04.20.0048

Can u shed any info as to what the issue was? just currious.

Sometimes we would pick the backup stream instead of the primary one and it seems in this case the backup stream is broken.

mmm. wasn't aware there was a primary and secondary(backup) stream for TVE streams.

It all depends, but in this case there was.

@eric, was this fixed for all streams, just WEtv, or just all AMC network streams?

I ask because this morning I noticed the same thing happening with BBC America. I thought it might be connected, since WEtv and BBCA are both part of AMC Networks.

The specific change we made was something that all channels would make use of, but we didn’t really do anything to actually handle the stream that was encoded improperly.

It just so happened that the primary stream wasn’t exhibiting issues and the backup one was, so changing to use the primary one just made the logic match the TV website streaming.

Is the issue you’re seeing also happening if you use their website?

Their web streaming is normal.

Yup. BBC A is doing what WE TV was doing now.

Please submit diagnostics from the DVR while playing of the affected channels

Also, audio seems to occasionally cut out while viewing an affected channel.
