I started having a strange issue that started (I think) around a month and a half ago. If you are watching live tv from an antenna stream after you have been watching for a while (30 min +) sometimes for no reason the framerate appears to cut in half and when you go to options and view show stats the dropped frames are counting up very fast. Also, the audio starts falling behind at this point. I have found that if you rewind 30s and then fast forward 30s it will all come back to normal. I left the tv on tonight while I went out to mow the lawn and when I came back in the frame rate was almost stopped and the audio was completely gone and it was about 30 min. behind in the timeline. I had to fast forward all the way to the end of the timeline to get it back. Now, the interesting thing is that I could rewind back as far as I wanted and everything was fine. I have the settings to play directly from the tuner and not stream. This behavior does not happen watching a recording and it does not occur on either of my two-fire stick 4K max's. I have cleared the disk cache in the app with no difference. This is the first time I have had any issue with the apple tv 4k, usually my fire sticks are the problematic ones. I have not tried changing from direct to stream in the video setting. I tried that a couple of years ago and the apple tv did not seem to like that, so I went back to direct. (My Apple TV 4k is the 2021 2nd Gen 32 GB Version and it is hooked up via ethernet.) Since this issue is only occurring on this device and it is set to direct, I am guessing that there is something going on with the video driver on the apple tv. This does not occur watching TVE channels by the way. If anyone else has noticed this or has a possible reason as to why or a solution I would appreciate any feedback as this is kind of annoying.
Thanks.
