Xfinity Login Issue

We need the exact error message, logs and a screenshot of the failure to investigate. Otherwise all we can do is guess.

Used username to login? Don't use email address to login

I just use the login username, not email. It was working fine until just the other day.

I will try to send logs, etc when I get home tonight.
Thanks for the help everyone!

Maybe the internet only Xfinity accounts don't have the same TVE authorization? Possibly it worked before but at some point Xfinity changed settings.

XFINITY and TVE is working just fine. I have never had a problem with it. I simply created an account just to be used for TVE. It works both on my ShieldTV and Synology.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the DVR Server App on my Shield. Now I have the most recent sable version, no longer the BETA - same issue.

This is the error message I get. Mind you, I cant actually type into it - its just a picture

This was working fine (and had been for months) until I noticed a few days ago.
It's an actual Xfinity cable account login, not just a streaming login.

I am just wondering if Xfinity changed something with their TVE.

-OTA, DirecTV and Spectrum working just fine
-created secondary login just for Channels (tried both)
-had most recent Channels BETA, reinstalled and now have most recent stable version
-running Nvidia Shield with most recent update

(Please understand, I'm not complaining - just trying to give as much info as I can).

Thanks for the help everyone.

You usually get what you pictured above when you have too many attempts to login wait a day or so then try again.

This can also be triggered by a VPN I think. Are you using a VPN?

I’ve never used a VPN.

I had an issue with Xfinity where it stopped working with TVE on Channels DVR and I couldn't login properly on their site. This was in spite of there being no other service interruptions with TV/internet. I think it was this thread on Reddit that led me in the right direction. A hard reboot of my cable modem (i.e. pulling the power) cleared it up and it has been working fine for the 3 months since.

I just tried, and no luck.

I think it’s for too many attempts. I’ll wait a few days before I try again.

Thanks.

Just make another brand new user.

So this finally worked yesterday. Even creating a new user/login gave the same result as perhaps Xfinity knew they were connected accounts.

I waited for >24 hours to try to login - and it finally worked.

Thanks again for all the help!

I’m getting the same “Context Canceled” error every single time I try to re-add my Xfinity cable account for TVE. It was working fine but my DVR server in my Shield crashed and when I got it back online, I noticed a few of the channels I knew I should be getting via TVE weren’t included. I tried rescanning each one individually and I got this error, so I tried removing Xfinity all together via the trash icon, then reset it up completely, but now I get this error all together and it won’t even allow me to login to begin the scanning process.

I know ALL the rules as I’ve done this numerous times already. I don’t use the email login, I created yet another new user and have 2FA turned off. I even tried using my moms Xfinity login from another location, to no avail.

I tried logging into the online network’s web channels and had no issue there and was able to watch each channel I tried

My latest attempt tonight was after waiting more than 24 hours, as mentioned previously as a possible fix. Here’s my logs from tonight’s attempt:

Go to the /providers/tve/error_screenshot.png endpoint on your DVR server to see what error message is being displayed. (Most likely, it's a CAPTCHA or similar.)

I.e.: http://192.168.1.102:8089/providers/tve/error_screenshot.png

I just get a blank White screen when I go to that address with my DVR’s IP settings.

Looks like there was a bug affecting TVE + Xfinity + Nvidia SHIELD causing the "context canceled" error. It has been fixed in the latest pre-release build.

I am trying to add it as well, and it says "no subscription" yet works fine on the app on both my ipad and iphone.

All of a sudden it keeps asking for a access code. It texts me the code but the page TVE displays does not allow me to type in anything in that field. That entire page displayed by TVE is just an image.
