(Xfinity) TVE not working - Cable Provider auth failed / password reset

Are we sure it is fixed? I'm still getting the timeout error with 2020.08.19.2205. It does ask for a verification code, but there is no way to enter it.

It appears that the account you are using requires 2 step authentication.

You can make a secondary user (without 2fa) that only has access to streaming.

Great thread. Fixed my issue. I forgot about creating a secondary user with Xfinity. That solves issues and helps with security by allowing 2FA on your primary account. Thanks!

works for me and the first time it worked with my username, thanks channels team!!!

it appears a lot are failing with my username instead of my email address...

Those aren't supported for Xfinity, it should also say NickJR
Current Status : All subscribed TVE channels work except MTV, VH1, BET, CMT, Comedy Central, TVLAND, Paramount, Logo, TENNIS, Weather.

I had just rescanned my Xfinity channels, and that seemingly prompted them to send me a password reset email and thus my finding this thread. After changing my password, deleting the Xfinity source, and logging in with the new password on the NBC and TLC websites, it still will not let me re-add Xfinity. After a brief message of "verifying login information" it then gives me the error of "not in subscription". I am on the latest server version 2020.08.19.2205.

I submitted my logs as acaff59e-67ed-44c7-94b4-454c8d1e09a5

Edit: I have resolved my issue now. I had to "Turn Off Auto Authentication" for both the Xfinity account with the TV services and the internet-only Xfinity account where my DVR sits. I'm not sure how this became enabled on both when it hadn't been an issue before.

I can confirm that disabling Auto Authentication fixed my login issues as well. I had even gone to the length of creating new user profiles to no avail.

This was the link I used to disable AA: https://idm.xfinity.com/myaccount/userprofile?tokenServiceStatus=success&tokenServiceStatus=success

Many thanks for rothchildtv!

all that link gives me is:

Facebook Connect is no longer supported

Facebook credentials cannot be used to sign in to your Xfinity account. Please use your Xfinity password in conjunction with your Xfinity username, email, or mobile phone number.

I never had Xfinty tied to a Facebook login....so...

It should redirect to the Xfinity login page.
You're probably getting that because you signed in with a secondary/viewer account name.
You have to sign in with your primary account name to see it.

well, that is not possible, cause that account is locked out, and it is impossible to get it unlocked, cause the damn system says the service address is incorrect.
The owner, my folks, have tried 4 times calling in, the number is says to call, never could get to a person, the automated system just keeps saying, do it online.....
(they still pay the bill via mail in check anyways, they don't do online payments on most things, its too confusing for them)

Regardless, i do know that screen, I looked at it before the first time the Xfinity TVE stopped working, that section for "Auto Authentication" was not there for me, using the primary account.

Also, that setting refers to Auto login while on your home Xfinity Internet(as it clearly says)....which is not a relevant setting for those of us who are NOT on home Xfinity internet and use TVE.

Whatever is default, is what it has been for me for a year now, since i first used Channels, have not changed anything.

I access Xfinity TVE outside of the home network via channels and disabling Auto Authentication worked for me.

This solved it. Thank you!

Whelp, i just got email now to reset Xfinity password...again.
It is weird the timing, as it came less than 1 min after Channels DVR started to record a show.
I have several things set to record to night.
not sure if it is actuly recording or not. sever says it is, so i assume it is.
But now i check and in the sever it says "Delayed".

sever: 2020.09.11.1741

I get a new error though:

I changed password, to a new one, then back to my orginal one that Channels uses.
No i try to play a channel, and it gives an error that is huge...several thousuands of characters long.
but end its
net/http: timeout awaiting response headers

That looks like the error I got TVE Provider password changes

You will need to look at http://x:8089/providers/tve/error_screenshot.png to see what the error is

no error is given. (i cover up my username)

Okay so the username is already filled in? It's trying to type that in and failing because the box is missing.
