YouSee Denmark Guide Data missing/incorrect

In general really happy with Channels, only frustration is missing and wrong guide data. As things are now I have the following options:

  • Data from DVB. This is fairly accurate, but data only collected once first channel is tuned and does not provide the rich data that otherwise makes Channels the best TV viewing experience.
  • Data from SiliconDust. In general pretty good data, but a number of channels are not correctly mapped.
  • Data from Gracenote. Nice data for the channels that are matched correctly but some channels are incorrectly matched or simply lack data. For the ones that are not matched the fall back to DVB data works fine, but for the channels that are incorrectly matched we get wrong data from Gracenote.

I believe that I have seen a link to a page on getchannels.com where a user was asked to provide information to confirm matching of channels somewhere else in Europe (Spain perhaps). If it could be of assistance in correcting the matching I would be happy to provide the same for YouSee in Denmark.

Any other Danish YouSee users with a pointer on how to get the best guide quality_

YouSee is tricky because it has different channel numbers in every region.

Please enter the correct channel numbers from your HDHomeRun on this link, under each logo.

Then email the codes from the right side of the page to [email protected] along with your YouSee region.

Thank you for the quick reply. However I wonder if you have posted the wrong link? This is a link to another post regarding a completely different subject and no logos to type under?

I am also from Denmark in the Copenhagen area using YouSee. I am having the similar problems. Could be on the same channels.

I don’t see a link in our post.

If you chose guide data from Gracenote you now get an option to choose YouSee (Hovedstaden) as provider. That solved the mapping issue for me. Now my only complaint is the accuracy of guide data on the sports channels (tv3 sport 1&2 and Eurosport 1&2), but I think that is down to gracenote not having accurate info on these channels as I have had problems with them in Eyetv as well (also using gracenote provided guide data).

Hi @MTNielsen and @tls62dk, we have recently launched Channels DVR in Denmark and are working with our guide provider to ensure that YouSee channel numbers are correct in their database.

Can you check this PDF (https://yousee.dk/~/media/pdf/Foreninger%20og%20Erhverv/Produkter%20og%20priser/TV/Kanaloversigter/FK0039_1720_Kanaloversigt_alle_WEB.ashx) and let me know if it shows the correct channel numbers matching what you are receiving in your area?

Hi @tmm1, the PDF looks really good as far as I can see.

Two changes are that “TV3 SPORT1” has now changed name to “TV3 SPORT” and “TV3 SPORT2” has changed to a new channel “TV3 MAX” a few days ago.

Will you make these updates in Channels DVR?

Thanks a lot for launching in Denmark, let me know if there’s anything I can help with in regards to YouSee or other things

There are several other problems with the EPG provided for Yousee. .

Yesterdays update to 2017.11.01.2252 broke DVR for me. With Denmark selected and zip code 2620, the only provider listed is Boxer TV. Yousee is gone and hence no EPG is downloaded.

I will get back to the EPG errors, but first I have to get up and running again.

Any idea of what could be the problem?

Our guide provider was supposed to fix the YouSee channel numbers, but something went wrong on their end. I am following up with them to restore the YouSee option.

The guide data issue has been fixed.

Thanks a lot for the quick help and fix!

It looks good so far and I can add YouSee with my postcode (2000).

PS. Is there any way to change channel logos and channel names myself (some are wrong)?

You can use the pencil icon under your hdhomerun to fix any incorrect matches.

Thanks. It is up again. I am seeing the same thing as Ayla. A number of errors in the EPG and channels missing, so the pencil doesn’t help.

Is there anyway we can assist you with reporting these error in the EPG to get it corrected?

Our guide provider is still working on this issue. Hopefully they will fix everything to match the PDF.

Have the guide provider given an ETA? Also, when they fix it, how do we rescan for the changes to appear?

PS. Here is the list of channels where EPG and/or logos are not working/wrong:
“Channel 3, DR K”, “Channel 15, Canal9”, “Channel 26, NatGeo”, “Channel 35, ID”, “Channel 38, TV3 MAX”, “Channel 39, EuroSport 1”, “Channel 49, TV 2 Sport”, “Channel 51, NatGeo People”, “Channel 11, TV3 Puls”.

I emailed them again on Friday and they said they are still looking into it.

Once it is fixed you will be able to click the circle refresh icon to get the new data.

If I don’t hear back from them soon I will look into fixing it ourselves.

I got an update that these channels should be fixed:

“Channel 3, DR K”
“Channel 26, NatGeo”
“Channel 39, EuroSport 1”

The rest they are saying are not in their database. I will follow-up to see what it takes to get them added.

Doesn’t look fixed. It can take 24 hours for the database to update, so I will check again tomorrow.

It would be more useful if you could specify what the problem with each channel is. I don’t know which ones are missing data, or just missing logo, or have the wrong logo or wrong data.

Sure, I want to help as much as I can - When the EPG gets fixed, and the glitches I have when watching Channel 1 DR1 are gone, Channels will be the perfect TV/DVR system for my home
