Ok thanks, that is what I thought.
I did see the ability to manually run commercial detection. It’s a bit of a PITA since I just imported 700 episodes. That is a lot of clicks.

It’s even more comskip runs
Most imports already have commercials removed. This is why it’s not default. We do understand that clicking this many times is a ridiculous thing to ask as well. So as we continue forward, we plan to figure out how to make this much nicer. We understand.
One thing is to read an EDL that is alongside the imports.
Yes, you mentioned that.
Are there any plans to support different languages for the Import TV show & movie match? Looking for a couple of matches for Kids Shows in German that aren't available in English.
Or at least a way to provide my own title, description and artwork?
Moved this here since it's related to importing TV Shows.
The times seem strange.
Here's the details of this recording
Duration 0 sec (+-256015 sec start, +72 hrs 9 min end)
not sure how to read that
Processed 10 hours ago in 13 min (local) comskip.log
was actually 2.5hrs ago
Show start not detected: Infinity% (66 seconds)
not sure how to read that
256015.00s - 256080.54s 65.54s
would prefer to see time from start of recording (0:00.00s) in minutes and seconds
*** Edited to add this was an imported recording
Well this is strange.
What I showed above in my previous post is from a recording made on my old NAS using TVE.
I have an Import setup on my new NAS to import recordings from my old NAS and then I run comskip on them.
Those Edit Commercials screenshots were on my new NAS.
I ran comskip against that recording on my old NAS and here's what Edit Commercials looks like on the old NAS (that made the recording). I think the commercial editor must be trying to pull timestamps from the files/recordings json and can't see those from my new NAS?
I still would like to see the times displayed in HH:MM:SS.ss format
Did another one today as a test and same issue.
Channels DVR v2020.10.31.1923.
This is the recording made on my old NAS that was imported to my new NAS and comskip'd
Will followup with what it looks like on my old NAS after I finish comskip'g it there.
What it looks like on my old NAS that recorded it
I have to assume I'm not the only one seeing this.
Appears on every recording I import and comskip.
Think I found my answer. Appears the devs assume imports don't have commercials, so probably never planned for this scenario or tested it.
While this might be an annoyance, please keep it this way, or at the very least if this behavior is changed in the future, allow this to be set as an option (and default it on). I'd have access restrictions in place on my imported files (in Plex) to prevent accidental deletion, so I'd hate for Channels to back-door that, and end up losing TV episodes I've moved to long-term archive.
Any reason it's grouping nested subdirectories? I have my shows organized by <Show_Name>\Season_#\Showname S##E##.mkv with slight variations on the filename itself. However, while many of my shows imported correctly, I'm seeing many examples of Unmatched shows being labelled as "Season_3" or "Season_04". When going into the listing, I see multiple shows in the same list. For instance, in This screen-show, you can see Growing Pains episodes alongside Muppet Babies episodes. In the information shown to the right, you can clearly see the directory structure has these separated.
Any way to fix this? I notice that I can't match individual episodes, and I'm afraid to "Fix Match" on a season, not knowing what the behavior will be.
Thanks!
This definitely looks like a bug. We'll look into it.
Would it be possible for you to email us a full directory listing of your tv shows to [email protected]
Can you update to the latest pre-release and see if there is a fix match option on the episodes shown?
Okay, so I updated to this version:
Then went to see if I could fix match on an individual episode, and I couldn't.
To be clear, I can select "Find Show Match" for the whole listing:
But, since there are like 4 different tv series' season 3s lumbed into this category, I'm hesitant to do that and then have all of my Muppet Babies, Peppa Pig, and My Little Pony (I have 3 girls, don't judge!) Season 3 episodes categorized under the Growing Pains tv show.
Thanks.
Looks like the underscores in your directory names were causing the DVR to get confused. This is fixed in the latest pre-release build. You may need to remove the files or source and rescan.
Great catch! I updated and removed re-added, and it looks like it's keeping things separated.
Always appreciate the quick turn your team provides when there's an issue like this.
I’m seeing an issue where I have a show imported and being recorded by DVR. The show is now listed with no image, but it had one before importing. Show is “This old house”.
I don't think the DVR likes my file naming structure
/volume1/Media/TV/Friends/Season 01/Friends.S01E01.The.One.where.Monica.Gets.a.New.Roomate.720p.BluRay.2CH.x265.HEVC-PSA.mkv
Try removing the . (periods) except the last one .mkv
I added periods to a valid import file. Channels worked perfectly with the extra periods.
