Annual Reminder: If you install iOS/tvOS/iPadOS 26 betas, you are on your own

This is the yearly reminder that we do not support beta operating systems. If you want full support and reliability, please do not update to the latest betas. If you do so and things break, do not expect us to immediately fix anything to make Channels work on a beta Operating System.

If you do install it, and things work great, or things are bad, feel free to report them. This is helpful. But we generally don't get things ready for the new OS until it's released, because Apple ships VERY buggy betas, and we don't like to waste our summer fixing bugs that Apple introduced.

Thanks!

Uaually, i'm eager to quickly jump on the new beta but i'm thinking that i might wait a little while the builds progress.
I haven't had any issues on the one test device i have but i think i wil keep it to one device and watch the progress of the betas.
apple tv has been pretty stable for me be we will see.

With this new "Liquid Glass" thing, transparent menus, icons etc....

Too bad Channels not update its UI to have transparent elements, a dark mode, black mode etc.
(alot like the "Carbon" themed Channels for Android.)

A post was split to a new topic: macOS Tahoe gets native containerization

Something to keep an eye on.

How are things going for anyone using beta of tvOS 26 and Channels (or other things)?

I have installed the Public Beta 5 on my iPad Mini 6th gen, and my iPhone 12 Pro Max (yea i know, its an older phone). Aside form the visual changes, everything been fine for me on those devices.

Considering installing it on my Apple TV 4K, since RC is right around the corner, and full release soon after.
I do plan on ordering the new model Apple TV 4K (if that is infact a thing they are announcing on Sept 9, hopefully will be available to buy soon after, same as the phones)

So, no issues with the last Public beta of tvOS 26 on my Apple TV 4K.

The Liquid Glass on the Apple TV, very nice.

For phone and ipad...tolerable to i can't stand it.
(the home screen icons in full clear mode, it just looks like gray scale to me)

I can kinda see why Channels was going for with more round buttons and ovals etc look with the newer UI treatments. Cause, the tvOS /iOS along those lines.

Now, if only Channels could have a transparent timeline and quick guide menu bar areas during playback, like what was done for the modded Android "Carbon" themed app.

EDIT: 9-11-25 Still had zero issues with Channels on tvOS 26. Now on RC version.
