In my experience—and judging by the posts of others—it seems to be more often than not that Fox/Bally Sports RSNs are problematic. The apportioned channels all seem to authenticate fine, but the channels that are being served are the issue.
As an example, in Southern California, one would expect to receive Fox Sports West, and Fox Sports Prime Ticket. However, the call signs (and content) of the streams being received by Channels as FS West 3 and Prime Ticket 2, alternates for the primary RSNs. Yet, while the content is for the alternate channels, the guide data is for the primary RSNs. (The myriad posts recently all seem to reference the Midwest region, so perhaps this issue is becoming more prevalent after the Sinclair/Bally Sports takeover.)
Is this some that has otherwise been identified as an issue? I personally wrote this off as an error between RSNs returned when querying during initial authorization, and just disabled the affected channel because I am not a sports viewer. However, since migrating my dad over to Channels this issue has moved to the forefront. The recent posts of Midwestern users with similar problems have also made me think this might be more widespread, and deserves a closer look.
