That’s an add on for Kodi.
Thank you for getting this out to all of us. This only adds to the value of this software!
Is there any reason why these channels don't pop up under Movies or News or Kids?
Ok. Thanks. Regardless, this has been an early Christmas!
Great stuff! Thank you for this.
I added Pluto as a source and the streams are working well. I kicked off a few recordings just for grins and ran across a few oddities:
- All of the recordings have the "!nterrupted" label. I scanned through them and they appear to be complete. I suspect this may be due to the way Pluto injects commercials. I will watch one tonight to be certain. I don't see a way to modify that label even if it is complete.
- Show information is... somewhat lacking. Hopefully that will be improved once I get that nifty tool maddox just posted. Just waiting on the wifey to finish a show to bring it up.
- Commercial detection is pretty awful. Likely just due to the stream and they don't use an overlay.
BTW, couldn't get the commercial editor working in the DVR web, but it worked fine in iOS.
Sorry Jon, I wasn't referring to the docker project but the overall functionality of this feature and whether I can use Matts's Kodi add-on like the his Pluto TV (which I don't. know why its so popular
).
I'll look into it more. Integrating Kayo would be a game changer.
The EPG stuff being used doesn’t have that kind of data. This is all incorporated from data that Gracenote provides.
If they source their channels with an M3U in some manner, then yes, that’s how custom channels are powered.
This is going to be rough as Channels’ recording features are designed around robust data. These sources just don’t have that great of data, series art for example. They don’t even provide season numbers.
Your mileage will very much vary when recording from custom channels.
It is m3u but when I experimented with Telly, I noticed that the link wasn't static so I am not sure how Matt manages that in his Kodi add-on. I know that he has a tvheadend fork of some kind
Understood. It's all good. At this point I am just playing with the new toy y'all provided. If I get something I want to keep, I figure I am clever enough to figure out adding/cleaning up the data
RTSP camera issues should be fixed in v2020.11.17.1955
Unfortunately still not working in 1955. Diagnostics submitted e587342e-bc51-448b-944b-3d23087d6c95
I’m still looking for M3U lists to test in channels to see how well the presentation is.
Please DM me ones you might be using!!
Addressing lack of data .. Interface possibly for the future?
A tag pop up menu for categories the common Channels categories (movies/sports/drama/news/kids) where you could choose one much like the Manage Channel?
So for example, I could choose MOVIE for say the 007 channels or KIDS for After School Cartoons
That would allow Channels to populate the common categories (limiting the somewhat) the fantastically explosive 399 channels that were added today!
I join everyone else here today with great thanks, this was simply amazing.
More RTSP camera fixes in v2020.11.18.0011
RTSP cameras are working again with this version. Thanks!
Are any other clients updated to use the new tags, or just iOS/tvOS?
RSTP camera is working again for me too. Woohoo! Thanks!
I know this may be a big ask, but it would be nice to be able to record these streams at some point. There are a ton of ways that I can do this outside of Channels, but I am digging the integrated solution. No need for scheduling or anything like that. Just manual record would make me happy. Can't speak for anyone else...
You can use the tricks for manual recording to record from channels with no guide info:
