Better than TiVo's Wishlist

If you have used a TiVo DVR, you are probably familiar with their Wishlist feature. If you don't know, it enables you to set up automatic recordings based on matching criteria.

To me, this was a killer feature for a DVR and I thought that was the best thing ever. That is until I discovered Channels Advanced Passes a few days ago.
Wow, so much more customizable, I am very impressed with what you can do with it. The possibilities seem endless.

Very nicely done, Channels developers!

Same here! I didn’t even know this existed.

Such a great feature!

i still don't know this exists (lol)...what are we talking about?

In the DVR server web interface you can get to more advanced options for your passes.

For examples:

And TiVo wishlists were awesome (when they used to work with gracenote EPG data).
Since Rovi bought TiVo years ago, they haven't used gracenote EPG.
A DVR is only as good as its EPG metadata, otherwise you might as well do manual recordings.

Channels DVR Advanced Passes are very powerful and have been getting better over time.
