Can't Add Hulu Live to sources

@eric something interesting. I tried updating the password for Hulu TVE on my docker instance of channels (latest beta). I am getting the 2fa prompt every time that I get a 2FA email from hulu. All of my other servers (non docker) don't show the 2fa entry box. I have entered in about 8 OTPs so far (All auth is still failing though)
I submitted more diags for you

Can you try the latest update that was just released?

Its the same except a very few channels with auth but 95% of them fail. TBH I think that the release before last had the same behavior. its still scanning but I grabbed logs anyway

Good morning!
I have updated to the newest DVR pre-release. I'm re-scanning channels for the source. Many prompts to enter passcodes. Scan completed, troubleshooting has been run. Logs submitted ( 02912ef0-8fc6-4b01-81d4-151712237524)

Lost 20 channels in last scan...
Hulu Live: 119 channels (-20)

Been following along here as I am also having problems authenticating Hulu in CDVR TVE the past several days (since the My Disney stuff happened).

The error I get is different, telling me my password is incorrect, even though it absolutely, positively IS correct. I can login with no issues at hulu.com, espn.com, and my.disney.com using the exact same credentials.

Just tried again with this morning's pre-release 2024.05.18.0359...

@teladog01 i had this exact thing after updating to the prerelease and was able to authorize by changing my Hulu password to something I’ve never used and logging into the Hulu web page then logging out. I then updated the new password in channels dvr(do it twice to make sure it takes) then I was able to successfully scan my missing channels in one by one.

I would strongly suggest anyone having problems not delete the source. Just scan individually

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried changing my password several times the past couple days, and even just tried once more with the current pre-release as you suggested. I've also deleted the existing TVE device connected to my Hulu account (as has needed to be done in the past when re-authenticating Hulu in CDVR). Still same "wrong password" error.

I changed my Hulu/Disney password. Rescanned channels in Hulu Live TVE source. Now down to 75 channels. Log: f7951db3-d827-4636-9f30-bb6639dc4430

So, when scanning the channels, it keeps sending new emails with new 6 digit codes. Always sends the same code twice. Sometimes, a new code arrives in an email before I enter the last one. Each email says that the code expires in 5 minutes. I keep trying to put in the most recent every time. Has anyone had any luck keeping up with these? Does it matter which code you enter provided it is within 5 minutes of receipt?

Are you scanning just the individual channels that had failed?

I was just reading through the last several days of posts.
Initially, I tried rescanning one by one, I would get double emails with a code, but wasn't getting any prompt on the CDVR interface for entering authorization codes.
I have re-entered my new password twice now, as was suggested, and am in the middle of another "rescan all channels" right now.
We'll see what happens. When it's done with the current scan, I can try one by one again.

My recent scan still only yields 75 channels. Most of the channels I care about are lost. I haven't tried removing the source to add back new. I fear losing what little is remaining.
After the full scan, I went in and attempted to rescan a couple channels one by one. No emails, no prompts to enter codes. The individual channels show "wrong password" errors. Ran diagnostics,
Logs submitted: 74d40019-7c6e-40b1-9b50-3628248e1478

Tried updating password again, and then logged in to HULU app on Shield TV box.
After that, I attempted rescanning channels individually. I now receive emails with codes. However, there is no prompt on the CDVR interface to enter the code. Eventually I receive "mtvn cAccess Token: cable provider authentication failed" for the channel.

I was having same issue - went to prerelease and hulu/tve works again

@jabeirne Glad to hear that you got it working for you! :slightly_smiling_face:
Sure wish that was the case for me... Some of my Hulu TVE channels are working. But, most are not.

Is there any chance that you have a backup you could restore from when you had the full Hulu channel list and not much else had changed that you’d loose?

Jim

I hadn't thought of that, Jim. I'll take a look this morning. Thanks for the suggestion!
Do you know what happens to more recent recordings if I restore to an earlier point in time. I did have a few programs recorded from a different source yesterday...

I wouldn't recommend restoring an older backup.

You'll lose any setting changes you did since that backup, including new/changed passes and channel lineup changes.

Channels will not know about any recordings you made since the backup and you'll have to move them to local content imports.

It will also revert back to whatever your username and password was at the time of the backup for all TVE sources.

That makes sense. Since yesterday morning, I have made a handful of changes, and recorded a few programs. It's not much to lose. However, I can't remember everything. I know that the developers have been working on resolving the Hulu 2fa problem. It seems that I probably should wait for a solution. In the meantime, I still have access to the missing TVE channels through the Hulu app. (ugh...)
