Did you ensure that you updated to the latest DVR prerelease before updating the tvOS/iOS beta?

The kids section doesn’t have buttons like that in it. With a smaller subset of content, It’s more simplified. It’s working like normal.
You think you’ll need them?
I wasn’t looking for buttons, I just assumed when I have enhanced turned off, that when I select the kids menu, it would just open to an alphabetical list of all kids shows and movies. Similar to the way TV and Movies does for the other menus when enhanced is off.
I can’t speak for anyone else’s kids, but mine like the ability to go to one spot for all of their content. They don’t seem to care if movies and tv are all together.
Or, change “recently added” in the kids section to be titled “kids movies”. It will show the most recently added movies with a blank tile at the end to open to all kids movies. Change “recently recorded” in the kids section to “kids tv”. It will show the recently recorded kids tv shows with the blank tile at the end to open to an alphabetical list of all kids tv shows that have been recorded.
A flattened list isn't possible since it contains shows and movies, plus this feature is more for large libraries anyways.
These do list all of the content. When visiting More, nothing is truncated. When Channels presents your content this way, it's never truncated, it's just sorted specifically.
I'll give an overview of the rows for Kids and how they're sorted, which are designed specifically for how kids watch stuff.
- Favorites - Movies marked as favorite
- Recently Watched - Kid movies that have been recently played (doesn't have to be completely watched)
- Recently Added - Kid movies that have been recently added, so they can find their new stuff fast.
- Kids Shows - Kid shows ordered by the last time they watched an episode. This forces the stuff they've been watching up to the top to get to them faster.
There's a new visibility filter in the Recordings tab of the latest pre-release of Channels DVR Server. This lets you filter your shows and movies based on where they are visible. This should help you curate your library when setting visibility settings for things to get your Kids Section set up real nice.

For the kids section, should the trash button be visible? If my kid is navigating within this section, I don’t want him to think he can delete a show.
Are we to a point where we can toggle off Up Next all together? I’ve used it a few times but I think my wife and I just prefer going to a Pass to look at historical episodes. I saw something in the settings about turning off Up Next but I’m guessing that wasn’t a toggle for the use case I was hoping for.

Just doing some normal playing around all of my kid section went away. After I played with the kid section after installing the beta it prompted me to load the section....which it did. After seeing how it was organized o went on my way to watch a couple recordings then some news. Went back to the kids section and it is now saying “There is currently no kid content in your library”. Tried closing the app and restating. Same thing.
Weird, can you install the newest pre-release server and see if the scoping tools that I mentioned earlier work?
Or just go to a show that was marked as kids only, and see if it's still set as that. You can do this in client or server.

By default the Kids section looks like it moves everything to the kids section. I would like an option to let them stay in the default library so I don't have to go thru everything moved and add it back.
There is an option under the settings to have it display in both sections.
It doesn't actually move the physical file though.
Do you guys plan to add a feature to add our own TV shows too?
I agree that the Android guide layout is much better, with it stretching across the whole screen. But we do need the time on the screen and/or the indicator mark!

I agree with the time display also, it would be super helpful to have it show on the guide and maybe the info timeline when watching a show. My current work around is to hold the TV button like you would if you were shutting the Apple TV off. It will display the time in the upper right corner - you can just back out of it and resume Channels.

New build out:
- NEW: Added a commmercial break editor for iOS. Verify the commercials for your shows and movies from your mobile device.
- FIXED: Items in schedule would sometimes incorrectly show as recording

That’s very odd. Nothing in this new build touched anything that would cause something like that.
