Channels Carbon Theme

Interested in trying. Couple of questions:

  1. does current version work on CC with Google TV?
  2. is current version the link in top post?

Thanks

Yes, it works great on the CCGTV, we have one in the bedroom. I would recommend the Filelinked install method on that device, unless you are fine with copying it over, the download in the OP is up-to-date.

106.15.2000 is up on Filelinked. The OP is 106.14.1424

I get the parsing error on A11. I haven't done anything differently and have decided not to look into it. I haven't changed my method any and it seems like sometimes they just won't install on A11, and sometimes they will. I just have to wait for the next version and hope it works out. So if my steps to decompile / recompile aren't changing, and sometimes it doesn't work, I can only assume it's something out of my control.

106.14.1424 is the latest version that will install for me on my A11 Pixel 3.

Maybe u need to update the APi version or whatver.

Android 12 is right around the corner.

What I thought I did to solve this was actually nothing getting done, which would mean that it sporadically doesn't work for A11. I am rebuilding with API level 30, so I don't know what else to do other than wait for a newer version, apply the theme, do nothing differently and perhaps it works, which is great, but just shows that there's nothing I can do, or will do, if it just randomly doesn't work. What is the API level for 12? I'll give it a try.

I tried going with the filelinked method, got it installed on my Sony TV and set all permissions I could find but it still errored trying to install Carbon Channels. I'll stick with Google Drive download and adb streamed install.

Well, this sucks...

Yeah, that does suck... It was a nifty utility despite the VPN ads... So, it was just linking to a Dropbox link. Possible to have a Dropbox link that the url never changes then add the shortcut into your own dropbox perhaps? That's what the Google drive link is, it doesn't change but I couldn't get it added properly in x-plore. Possibly Dropbox would work.

106.22.2231 is up

The not installing on A11 was me, I reset APK Easy Tools and it installs on A11 now. It is being signed differently also, so it needs a fresh install, please uninstall an old version. It will still update in the future, tested by doing 2 versions today. And that also removes the google drive warning, so I was able to link my Drive in X-Plore and successfully install the app from there. Which means you should be able to add a shortcut to the file in your own drive, and access it from x-plore after signing into google drive.

app still works fine for me...loads up fine.
but says code not found when i try to do the continue button to load the file

if only they would officially integrate this or a similar dark theme into their product....then it would be easy to update with the built in updater in the settings.

Pasting the link into AFTVDownloader also works.

Any chance you could attempt this color theme change to the Apple TV version?
or is the TVos app radically different design?
Is it even possible to "mod" a TVos app?
wait...u can't even side load anything...
that means you would have to submit it as a separate app in the Apple TV app store..
yea...guessing that not gonna happen.

I'm so iOS stupid... Some light research, the app file is an .ipa which gets unzipped into assets like an .apk would and can be sideloaded a few different ways. Just Google 'sideload ipa' .... I don't even know how to get ahold of the original .ipa... I'm probably a lot dumber now than I used to be and won't be able to figure it out... But maybe... It will have to be a project for my next days off. To even try.

I think it's just a few of us that use this...

I think tvOS is different than iOS.
The Apple TV 4K has no inputs whatsoever.
So ur locked into whatever is available via the App Store.

EDIT: I am just finding myself using the Apple TV more for streaming apps, and only using the Shield for when i want to watch local files/movies.
The native option of Reduce Loud Sounds (ie. Volume Leveling) feature of the Apple TV is very nice and useful for late night tv watching, so I have been using the Apple TV for Channels lately, and miss the nice dark Carbon theme.
