I now get a "Blocked by Play Protect" dialog, installing this new version.
There is a Install Anyway Option....but thats a new thing i have not seen before,

Yessir, I had to create a java keystore with garbage company / developer info in it to sign it with when recompiling, so it can be recognized as the same app, enabling the ability to install it as an update instead of uninstalling first. The play protect warning is because it doesn't recognize the garbage info I put into the keystore as a legitimate developer / business recognized by google, etc.
Ah. well. anwyays, with the new sever side settings override now in the latest beta,....i no longer have to bother to reset any thing, when have to update your version of the apk...lolz. but its cool i now don't have to remove then re-install.
I thought the same as well. Already set up the server side settings I like and don't want any clients to be different from another. I mainly did it because it was requested, I didn't know about the upcoming server side stuff, and it would pretty much complete things. The purple is gone, the player stuff is transparent and it can be updated now. The only other thing I can think of is changing where the "Update Channels DVR Beta" gets it's file. I think that's crossing the line though.

But, I understand your reason......but, you could always ask the devs for permission to make that modification. Worst thing they can say is no.
here it is if anyone wants to have a look, i don't understand smali. seems like v1.smali has the code to call on something happening in w$h.smali

No idea on that one....never heard of "smali" code language.
I would have thought it was just a simple url address or pointer variable that could be changed.

So is there a thread for the beta with a changelog I could start referring to? Would like to adopt a weekly, or major changes beta update schedule. A place to see what got updated.
If you search the board, there is a few threads asking about a changelog....and i had an extensive thread ...that...was more of a argument than anything use full.
Unless they have changed their minds, no, they have no public "changelog" for thier beta or pre-release app or server.
Only changelog u can find is the basic one for each stable release that is on thier website.
I see. Don't think I've ever had that happen before. Hell, even modders provide a changelog .
I'll just update weekly unless some big change gets mentioned.
