DirecTV TVE lost 60 channels due to error 0066

Initially reported in Provider - DirecTV - #56 by mjitkop but not sure if it's better to report here in Troubleshooting instead.

This problem seemed to be solved after I changed my password but it came back and I'm not the only one with this problem. See messages below.

cdvr_tve_directv_error_0066

I noticed the same thing on my install. I deleted the DirecTV setup and re-added it, and all the channels came back...

Thanks. Another thing I was very hesitant to do.
At this point, it can't get much worse, unless I lose 100 channels.

OK, I will give it a try. I'll report back right away.

Wish me luck!

No joy. I deleted Directv and now cannot get it reinstalled.

Are you running the latest Channels DVR prerelease version?

I am.

Here we are more than 15 minutes later and all it's been doing is this:
cdvr_tve_directv_login

I don't remember it ever taking this long.
I guess as long as it's not spitting errors, I'm not touching it.

Well, as I was typing this message, it just finished a second ago.
It is reporting 160 channels, down from 188 before the issue.

I will try now to manually scan the channels that failed authentication.

To be continued...

Update: no luck with manual scans. I'm restarting a full scan now...

Update #2: no luck, still 160 channels out of 188.

I don't know if there is anything useful in this:

That's interesting. Is it easy to see this screen somewhere on my side in case this happens in the future?
I will check my credentials and possibly reset my password.
Hopefully that will work.

When you see it in the log

You can view it at http://x.x.x.x:8089/providers/tve/error_screenshot.png
It only keeps the latest screenshot.

Thank you all. I'm back in business with all of my 188 channels now!

I needed to reset my DirecTV password, which was not an easy task.
Long story short, I had to chat with somebody who had to help me reset my password because the process didn't work from www.directv.com. It had to be done in an incognito window on some AT&T page. Not obvious!

Anyway, let's hope it doesn't happen again because that was not a pleasant experience.

I just had the thought now that this could be added to the troubleshooting steps, maybe?

Screenshots aren't always as helpful as it was for you this time.
Not every type TVE error results in a screenshot.
Besides, you would have to know when it was taken, which means digging through the logs.
And without knowing exactly how the auth flow works it wouldn't help.

Here's my last one from 14 days ago when my Reelz channel auth had expired (every 14 days) and Channels was trying to record something from that channel. It retried automatically and re-authed the Reelz channel and finished the recording.

Thank you for the explanation, that makes sense.

Still having issues, @russellblogan ?

No issues. Thanks to update to pre-release version all is fine.

My service now works perfectly after the update. Thank you.

Perfect. That's what we like to hear before the weekend. Enjoy! :slightly_smiling_face:

It's happening again! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I have no problems logging in to my DirecTV account (no error message about too many logins) and I'm able to watch live on websites. I checked different groups of channels (NBC, Lifetime, Hallmark, TruTV) and I was able to watch live with my DirecTV credentials.

There has to be something else going on.
I'm not going to change my password every other day, that's ridiculous.
