Disney ABC Shutting down stand alone apps

I once again remind you of the alternatives

https://community.getchannels.com/t/beta-chrome-capture-for-channels/36667/1574

I already piped in most of these channels with CC4C (although I'm going to switch over to ah4c with a LinkPi)

Any thoughts on EPlusTV being an alternatives source for ESPN content? Currently I only use for Espn3 content, but wondering of it would be viable for other Espn content like regular channels and SEC NETWORK?

Yeah...it works ATM but that could well be in jeopardy if the powers that be turns on DRM.

Ugh - my son lives on Disney

Probably best to work on getting video signal into channels or at least have it at the ready so you aren't left out when the streams are stopped.

Luckily I record almost everything on there so he has plenty to keep him busy.

Is there a best option for TWDC/ABC sources? I’ve read through so many of those strings but there aren’t a lot of ABC examples. I have Xfinity, so access via Xfinity.net and ABC.com.

I think the Xfinity is the best option for you really. Honestly, I think using the cable providers usually the best way to go (if it's an option). I use Sling instead of the NBC app to get my NBC station for a reason

Did the apps stop working?
Reason I ask is I still get TVE audio (and video).

TVE is still working here. I expect it will take a bit to get people off the app. enjoy it while it lasts.

The website streaming isn't going away. Disney outlined it in their press release and listed the websites as the app alternative.

This move was made by Disney to consolidate their apps and content down to just Disney+ and Hulu. In fact, Disney+ is rumored to be getting linear channels in the near future.

These moves are different from NBC and Paramount's recent changes in several ways:

NBC still has the Peacock app and live streaming on their site. However they changed technology and encryption to something incompatible with Channels

Paramount killed their sites and apps to reduce operating costs to lower their sale price ahead of a merger with Skydance Media. While they still have linear feeds on paramount+ these require a seperate sub and do not have the provider authentication integrated like the sites did (again, save costs ahead of a merger).

Nothing is changing with ABC and TVE at the moment and probably won't until Disney decides to try and sell them off.

Thanks. I'm aware of that.
I was trying to point out to rpaulmerrell that his theory was incorrect.
Many users still think TVE app == Channels DVR TVE access from a network website.
That thinking started a long time ago What is TV Everywhere? and What channels are available?

Question is to everyone not just "Jean0987654321" I'm quoting... And all, feel free to speak to me like I'm an idiot. Because apparently insofar as streaming media is concerned, that's pretty accurate. lol

But, seems the FX Network stream has finally been pulled for good from TVE. Recently would stop then come back ... seems it's gone for good, always throwing the inaccurate and false "abcgo: 1002:You appear to be outside the United States or its territories." error for a while now.

If my want and need is FX movies or TV shows routed thru Channels DVR, the list of alternatives provided by Jean is the best or only answer to accomplish that? Because, I do have the Hulu app and an account for on demand, and I do have live TV via the Spectrum and XFinity cable TV services and apps. ...

I even have a working Slingbox and Slinger, but have never figured out how to restream that and fix it up to be in a form Channels or Emby like.

Much appreciate all informed replies.

FX still working good here on Directv Stream. What service are you using to pull them in?

Same here on Directv Stream

Have you tried any of these steps?

FX still working here with YTTV as TVE Provider

Yeah, I'm still getting FX, FXP, FXX, FXXP, and FXM through YTTV TVE.
As a backup plan, I have added FXPHD, FXXPHD, and FXMHDP to ADBTuner.
(That's a lot of Caps...)

Thanks for all the replies.

Yes to all the troubleshooting techniques that I could do. Only outstanding thing is waiting for a Channels pre-release update to see if that changes anything.

My primary TVE provider is my Spectrum account, but then I also have access to the in-law's XFinity account, which lost Disney & FX and variants for quite a while now when Disney started sunsetting stand-alone apps and services. Had access to a DirectTV Stream account for a while too, but lost access to that when my friends dropped the service.

We have a bundle of services from Spectrum. As per the primary topic of this thread I've lost FREEFORM, DISNEYXD, FXM, FXX and 'P' suffixed variants months ago, all throwing either

"notAuthorized: This content is no longer available through your subscription"
or
"notAuthorized: Due to programming restrictions, this content is currently unavailable."

Only recently, FX and FXP -- which was only available via Spectrum in recent months -- would periodically become unavailable with

"abcgo: 1002:You appear to be outside the United States or its territories."

, then come back for a few weeks. But now, it's been doing that for a while. BTW, all the channels noted throw that "abcgo: 1002" error from XFinity via TVE, so I figure the three error messages I've pasted are functionally equivalent and interchangeable.

Glad to hear it's still available with YTTV. But subscribing to that isn't in the plans.

EDIT: Channels released a new beta. Didn't change anything. I think FX is gone for good on Spectrum now too.

So, Chrome capture... it works?

Could be either Spectrun auth servers or Channels DVR
see TV Everywhere not bringing in Spectrum channels
