Docker help needed for MLB.TV for Channels

if you're running it on the same server as channels, those can be localhost...

http://localhost:8092/epg
http://localhost:8092/m3u

I'll try that. Because I tried these and they didn't work: http://192.168.1.3:8092/m3u
http://192.168.1.3:8092/epg

O.K. http://localhost:8092/epg
http://localhost:8092/m3u

So that brought up the same Channel List as Pluto

there's still something wrong then lol...

192.168.1.3 is your channels server, so using that same IP should work.

i feel like there's something obvious we're missing, but man is this frustrating...

there's something extremely weird going on here then. i have no idea how that would be giving you the same list as pluto.

this is why i prefer running docker on linux vs windows...on linux this stuff just works. windows introduces all kinds of weirdness like this.

I know. I'm so sorry and frustrated at the same time. We ever get this figured out I'll paypal you for your efforts....

This is also why I almost posted if anyone else has gotten the channel working from Docker Desktop

If there's something else that anyone wants me to try, I'm willing to give it a shot as long as I understand what's being asked..

Can you try these in a browser (assuming browser is running on the same machine, else substitute the "localhost" for the server that docker is running on:

http://localhost:8092

http://localhost:8092/index.html

If either/both of those shows " Pluto for Channels" then somehow that port is tied to the pluto docker, or somehow you have 2 pluto dockers.

Might also try wiping out the pluto docker all together (for now) and the other one and then try setting up just this one docker to see how it goes.

This suggests you can run linux on docker for windows, so I'm uninstalling just to get fresh install and trying that

I uninstalled Docker completely. Reinstalled. Tried this first without Pluto installed. Your links show "not found"

I have no idea what that means. I don't have a windows docker system to help so I'm gonna defer to someone who can help more at this point. everything I've thought it could be hasn't worked.

try http://192.168.1.3:8092/epg and http://192.168.1.3:8092/m3u

You had said "Linux just works". I had a link up that was saying it was possible to run docker linux on Windows so I was trying to get a fresh install of Docker Desktop making sure that was enabled. So, I unistalled Docker Desktop. Restarted my CPU. Installed a Linux distribution for Docker Desktop. Then reinstalled Docker Desktop and enabling WSL 2 Windows features for it.

I tried first installing the MLB custom channel first. I ran the docker compose command and then tried with http://192.168.1.3:8092/m3u and http://192.168.1.3:8092/epg

It didn't change anything.

Did you see there's someone who posted in the Pluto channels thread who looks to be having a similar issue with the two on port 8080. He's running Windows but he got the MLB installed but now the Pluto won't install.

I didn't mean running docker for Linux on windows works...that's certainly not something I would think is anywhere near a bulletproof setup.

I didn't want to create a new thread but I'm sure I'm not the only one with this question. Is it possible to setup any kind of VPN to launch at the same time as a recording in this arrangement to somehow get around the local blackouts? If there was some way to automate it, that would be amazing. I apologize if this question is inappropriate. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Maybe one of these days MLB will come out of the stone ages and often an in-market option...

Have you looked at Windows firewall? Asking because when I installed Pluto, Windows initially blocked Docker until I ran Docker command in the Windows Powershell. Only then did it present me with the option to allow communications through the firewall.

No I haven't. I'll try to run the command if you tell me which command to run through Windows Powershell

Run the docker-compose.yml script you created/edited in Windows Powershell. If you get a windows firewall warning, click to allow access. That’s what I stumbled onto with my Pluto install.

trying to bypass blackouts is absolutely not supported and no support will be provided for attempting to do so.
