It looks like I already had a LocalDumps key on my system. Unfortunately there were no Comskip.exe.dmp files… Any other suggestions?
Hmm are there entries under LocalDumps? Perhaps the default location for the dumps was changed.
Yes, there were entries. Just nothing with comskip.
Commercial detection does not appear to have finished on "Criminal Minds". Here is the current status on the DVR:

Can you check task manager to see if comskip is still running? You may need to kill it.
Thanks, yes, should have checked the server, there was a dialogue box that stated comskip had “stopped working”. I clicked OK, and here is the message on the log:

Ah yes ok, that’s the same issue as before. I need someone to send me a crash dump for it.
I have a dmp file, but it is 54mb and exceeds email file size. Do you have an alternative?

I think I managed to fix this error, but it needs more testing. If you want to help test run the command in Volunteers to test new DVR build?
The comskip crash issue should be fixed in v2017.03.21.0415. Let me know if you have any more problems.

I got a chance to implement this for the next build. Now Windows will prompt you if you try to shut down or reboot while the DVR is busy. I hope this also means Windows won't auto-reboot after update while the DVR is recording.
Pre-release build v2017.04.22.0146 with the new shutdown/restart prevention feature is now available.
Run this in powershell to update:
