Fox @ 4k HDR

That may only be with the very latest Apple TV model that just came out. I have the model just before that, which is less than a year old, and it doesn't. They don't even put HDR tags on the content with the Fox apps. They tag them as UHD only. And even for those that have it, it took Fox four or so years to finally add it to Apple TV's.

I've got one that is the latest and then another one is the model before the latest one. I get the HDR icon for both.

Thats very strange. You are the first person I have head with HDR on Apple TV using the Fox apps. I have yet to see that on my less than a year old Apple TV. Even tonight's game was tagged as UHD and so are all the upcoming events. During the World Cup, Fox had it on for Apple TV for maybe one game or day, then they turned it off again for the rest.

Video looks great.
Audio sucks.
Comskip doesn't process it.
I don't think it's worth burning through the streaming bandwidth if no 5.1 audio.

Thank You for the 4K/HDR.
Now if they could only provide 5.1 audio to go with it, it would be perfect.

On the latest pre-release and I’m not getting this to work for the current 4K game on FS1. Just getting the 720p feed on my Apple TV 4K. Anyone else having issues?

The same for me. The wonderful 4k HDR that we experienced yesterday is gone.

Yep. Working for me now after updating. This is great! Would be great to get the fox 4K broadcasts working too with the nfl playoffs starting up this weekend.

@tmm1 it worked for me until it went to commercial and then I got a spinning wheel and it never recovered. I'm guessing that the commercials were a different resolution? Also the brightness is significantly dimmer with channels than it is with the fox sports app. I know that ATV is switching into HDR mode as the TV goes black in both instances to do the mode switching

I noticed the commercials are switching in and out of HDR as well. The Fox apps stays as HDR.

I only got to catch the last few minutes but did see that the game was coming through Channels in 4k. When the next game came on it switched back to 720. I'm thankful for the technology the Channels Team is providing for us. I didn't try any recording tonight, but have tomorrow afternoon's game scheduled to record and we'll see how it does.

I'm looking forward to the 5.1 audio getting up and running and seeing more television in 4k. Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread of information.

As I was reading this, it failed to register in my brain that this is ChannelsDVR grabbing the FoxSports 4K stream through TVE. I was thinking that the devs did some things to optimize the interaction with the EPlusTV container. DUH!! Anyway, looking forward to the next 4K event on FS1 to see this in action and hoping it can get wired into the “regular” Fox TVE sometime soon.

It's exciting to see that it is possible to get 4k video via TVE. I had thought the highest res available via TVE is 720P. Looking forward to the new tech.
