That is unexpected. I just checked and I am getting NBC and MyNetwork do not have DRM right now. I will check again tomorrow and add them back for NYC if they stay available.
I just tried My network TV in Los Angeles and it appears to be working now.
Very strange.
All of a sudden all the channels weren't working. I uninstalled and reinstalled and everything is back to working. Not sure if the NBC/FOX problem was on my end or something Fubo was doing?
@jator it was probably something that Fubo was doing with their APIs.
I just checked and NBC and My Network TV are both back to having DRM.
And we're back to all channels (or the several that I tested) working except NBC and FOX (CBS still works and several of the regional sports networks).
I have updated the code to now show in the portainer logs that a channel with DRM that is being tuned to has DRM. It will print this message for the offending channel.
Stream 20459 is DRM Protected (WNBC: NBC (WNBCDT – New York, NY))
I also updated the playlist page to align with the current build version and build date.
Looks like Fubo is on the ware parth with DRM. The following channels can no longer be seen on the VLC-bridge.
- mtv live
- mtv classic
- Charge!
- Comet!
- FS1 4k
- The nest
- Nick jr
- Nickmusic
- Nicktoons
- Teennnick
- roar
Sorry to bring this bad news.
Are they shown as being DRM in the container log?
@chDVRuser - Most are with a few exceptions.
FS1 4k is not giving me a DRM error message, just not opening - when I check the error from the original stream it says something about trying to play from not my region.
Comet! and ROAR played for me and do not have DRM enabled. I am not sure why they are not playing for you.
All the Nickelodeon and MTV stations are ViacomCBS channels. Looks like ViacomCBS asked for DRM to be implemented.
Charge! and The Nest are Sinclair as are the Roar and Comet! Not sure why some have DRM and others do not. Maybe implementing channel by channel.
According to the log, I'm getting the message that they are protected with DRM.
I was able to verify my findings in the logs in Container manager on my Synology.
Bummer!
DRM may be increasing but if you have an HDMI encoder or two, you can pipe back in those channels as long as you have the channels id in there
With ah4c, it's just add and copy and paste and thats it
Even with the DRM stuff, those 2 hdmi tuners are not being used over the bridge or TVE or the FAST stuff over here
Yeah, good reminder, I’ve also two HDMI encoders. Both AH4C and ADBTuner well, they just don’t tune into different channels quite as quickly as the VLC bridge integration does. Alas.
I'm already prepared.
I would rather have the hls streams but my encoder would work. When i recently signed up, i got a pretty good price on service.
Had 2 tuners setup on ADB as backup, went ahead and setup another 2 in anticpation of FuboBridge getting torpedoed by DRM.
Are the ABC/Disney/ESPN channels DRMd now as well?
They have been for a while now.
Silly me.
Those channels are still available via TVE -- at least with DTV and YTTV credentials. Not sure about with Fubo credentials, but I would suspect so.
