Ah, I see that now in the headers of the Prismcast web ui. Thanks.
Great just Great now I need to Re-enable Chrome updates Ugh this is terrible
...........HOPE ya know this is a meant to laugh a bit reply HJD keep up the crazy good work!!!!!!!!!
There's every chance...if someone wants to privately DM me. I don't have a Verizon account. I'd love to add support for more.
And more broadly: apologies about the letterbox issue guys taking a few days longer to address than I would have liked. I've been traveling quite a bit for work, and as always, I want to ensure I get it right.
I originally installed it using Homebrew. To upgrade I typed in terminal: prismcast upgrade. After installing I had to stop and then start the service: prismcast service stop, prismcast service start
THANK YOU!! I truly appreciate all of the updates to PrismCast as well as the other tools that are keeping my Channels DVR alive! Thanks again, it is all working great!
Thanks. I can verify the cropping issue is resolved. I did have to stop and manually update PrismCast. Still seeing the process running and have to kill it before reinstalling. I am thinking something is leftover from older installs. But overall, all it is running great. I have built a watchdog to automatically restart PrismCast if I change a configuration that requires a restart.
Again, many thanks.
Sorry for asking but does prismcast still grab his streams like CBS and fox that work and continuously grab them newest hls from them like channels does? Uverse won't let me sync channelsdvr any longer
Good morning, I am using PrismCast (or FC with bridge) for FOX ONE, NFL Network, ESPN and Weather Channel all with HLS. Also must say latest versions on PC and Chrome do a good job with web streams.
My ChannelsDVR setup (on a brand new high-end Mac Mini and a new Apple TV) was running just great. I was able to use TV Everywhere to glom onto all of our Xfinity stream channels and ran this in our condo where we often stay for a couple of weeks at a time.
Until CNN (and a couple of other Turner properties went dead on me). Apparently they changed their DRM or something, and I had to find another solution other than TVE.
I installed and configured Prismcast and it worked pretty well for several weeks. Then, things started to crumble. After a day or two, I was having to restart the Prismcast service and re-authenticate with Xfinity every day or so. Else, I would get "could not connect..."-type or "tuner is busy" messages in ChannelsDVR when trying to load the Xfinity channels. (My Silicon dust 4-tuner unit seems to be ok for everything else, and the config page for that shows at least 2 of the 4 tuners idle when this happens).
I thought it might be an outdated install of Prismcast, and upgraded to your new PrismCast v1.14.0 yesterday, and things got worse. Now, even though I have CNN pointed at Xfinity Stream and can confirm I am logged in via the Chrome instance that Prism starts, I cannot connect to anything coming in on my Prismcast source.
Honestly, every other source I have (OTA and TVE, and my stash of M4V videos) all work fine through this server. Everything but Prismcast. Which kind of worked ok at first, but now inexplicably has stopped.
Can you throw me some ideas?
I am hoping to get some guidance here. Else, I am thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling Prismcast. I am on Mac OSX with Homebrew. What is the best way of doing that? Thanks.
Prismcast via homebrew on a Mac mini is working quite well and reliably for me. Iām using it with Spectrum and a few others without issues. Perhaps a fresh reinstall will help.
I also have fastchannels linked to ah4c on a Mac mini via docker and it is also flawless. Just another option if you want to explore an alternative.
Yes. I am looking for the best process for an uninstall and reinstall.
From his GitHub page
prismcast service status # Check if the service is running
prismcast service stop # Stop the service
prismcast service start # Start the service
prismcast service restart # Restart the service
prismcast service uninstall # Remove the service
Youtubetv does no longer streams for me on Prismcast at 1.11 or 1.14. Stream setup failed for https://tv.youtube.com/live Ā· Issue #62 Ā· hjdhjd/prismcast Ā· GitHub reports the same issue on 1.13 I suspect 'something' has changed with YoutubeTV.
Not seeing the issue you are. Using YTTV credentials on V1.12.1 in a Linux Docker. Was able to tune both Comedy Central (YTTV portal) as well as ESPN (ESPN Portal using my YTTV credentials).
I run on Windows and the github report runs on Mac. The Youtubetv tab doesn't move off the lineup screen for me. I've run through the setup several times, but no joy.
May be a timing issue of re-authentication. I'll keep an eye on it, though I use ADBtuner before I use Prismcast for most of my non-TVE stations, so it's not an instant identification.
So after a few days of shrieking and hair loss I switched the service to CNN.COM. Suddenly, it works, but only for CNN. Non of my other Xfinity channels will connect.
I begin to wonder: is this really a Prismcast issue, or something else going on with Chrome, the way ChannelsDVR is trying to call on Prismcast, or something to do with some node permission or install I am missing?
