Coming up on 3 hours later, so far so good.
12 hours later, still no lag! I left the TV / ATV4K on all night on the same channel. Deinterlacing set to Hardware, Original = Direct; Match content for Live TV & Extras = ON, Tuner Sharing = Off.

I must’ve hit pause on the whole thread, it sure went quiet in here!
Yeah, I was just wondering the same thing. Has the app been updated with the fix?
I tested the latest beta today with hardware de-interlacing turned back on and I had no issues after about 10 hours. I would love to see this fix make its way out into a release
Not that I've seen yet. I'm still waiting for a status update from Eric here in this thread.
Since discovering Testflight and switching to the beta Channels app a few days ago, I have had no issues regarding the out of sync slow motion anomaly. We did experience one issue where the guide would not scroll down, but I think that was due to the GF having both the beta and regular Channels apps opened simultaneously.
Great summary for my experience as well. Did the same thing with HDHomeRun app and had the same experience. Did not do Emby.
I've had this issue primarily on programs that last more than an hour, and it's happened on both Apple TV and Android. All of a sudden the video will play in slow motion while the audio is playing correctly. I can fix the playback by seeking backward or forward, but doing so tends to seek to the wrong part of the recording, like it skips forward significantly.
Thinking back yes I do believe this has only happened on interlaced programs, typically from CBS in my case, such as the Grammy Awards and the Matlock season finale. I regularly watch American Idol which is 2 hours and it never has this problem. American Idol is on ABC which is 720p.
I’ve noticed the same with multiview on my apple tv 4k, latest gen, when using Channels DVR for locals with the HD Homerun Flex 4k.
No issues with the other sources, hulu, hbo max, apple tv all work fine with ADB tuner.
My locals after about 10-20 minutes start to lag on multiview for CBS, NBC etc… same as mentioned above.
Running Channels DVR

I’ll try the beta TestFlight until this gets fixed.
Test flight version of Channels DVR seems to have fixed issue, been watching for 30 minutes, no more lag for my local channels with HDHomeRun
Just happened again, submitted logs
FWIW, it only happens on one of our ATVs. Our other two run all day and have never had issues.
On the ATV that is affected, it’s only happened on weekends, and only on Discovery or Universal stations. This is an ATV 4K 3rd Gen (2022) and the unaffected units are ATV4K 2nd gen (2021).
If the Test Flight version contains the fix when can we expect the public version to get updated?
Would love to know this also. ^
Thanks!
Not sure it fixed it 100%, see my April 28 post above. Have not heard if it is related but I did submit the logs.
I just submitted diagnostics. I was playing a 1080i channel and it started at almost exactly 30 min. Into the program. Hopefully this can help out. The linear 60fps eliminates this, but the picture quality is not the best.
Not sure is it is still desired for us to submit diagnostics but I just submitted - this morning watching CBS Sunday morning and also recording it along with other news programs - worst its ever been for me, temporarily corrects when I hit 30 seconds back and forward
Diagnostics are helpful if you are on the latest TestFlight beta (it has more debug info to try to isolate what’s going on).
Ok, thanks - I just moved over to the beta and no issues in the last hour+, will send diagnostics if it repeats under beta, looking good do far
Thanks again
How do you get this beta that seems to be working?
