NBC TVE not working

Which browser?

@tmm1 Brave on Windows, but I’ll try it in a few others.

Here is the logs from doing it again on Mac 11.2.3 in Safari. The behavior here was it started right away, with audio. it payed for a minute or so with occasional hangs of 2 seconds, and then finally stopped.

I'm having the same problem as @clarkbar6 with the Boston NBC TVE stream. I just switched to fuboTV as my provider and it has neve worked. Video, but no audio and sometimes the stream quits. I have a ticket into fuboTV for this, but they haven't been much help.

@clarkbar6 - Who is your TVE provider?

@tmm1 - I just submitted diagnostics for this issue: 8d806384-6c90-4f4d-876f-370eb1e17e3d. Tried starting the NBC stream, it would not start. Tried again and got video but no audio.

Update your dvr to prerelease. Where are you playing/watching from? What device?

TVE provider is xfinity

@tmm1 is there a pre-release newer than the 2021.09.09.1401 I already tried yesterday?

Latest is 2021.09.10.1817

Running 2021.09.10.2301 on ds220+

Same issues. On LTE on iPhone, plays for 15 seconds then pauses, spinner.
iPhone and Apple TV on local network, shows first frame, has a spinner for a minute + started playing after a minute but with no audio

Can you install the 4.5.9 update from the App Store?

@tmm1 I'm now running 2021.09.10.2301 and NBC Boston is much improved, but not perfect. I now have audio, but the stream will play fine for a minute or two and then freeze up. That is on the web player running on the server admin page.

On the client running on my NVidia Shield, still no audio and freezing. I updated the client to the 109.10.2345 beta, now have audio but still freezing up after a short time.

App Store update seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

still doing the same thing in the web interface though, starts quickly (with audio, plays for a short time, stops, and says "remux: 0s"

I am having the NBC problem, also.

“Channels is showing me a "snapshot" [freeze frame] of the correct NBC affiliate, but it spins forever and never actually starts the stream”

“i get the first frame and then a spinner. sometimes it eventually starts [after ~2.5 minutes here], often with no audio. when it does start playing it has some buffer, but skipping in it is laggy”

I also have the “no audio” issue when it does start.

Channels DVR 2021.09.10.2301

Mac M1 Big Sur v11.6—working with audio, but was not working yesterday before the 2021.09.10.2301 Channels server upgrade

Apple TV TVOS v14.7—watch live: freeze frame for about 2.5 minutes, then plays with no audio, then hangs

iPhone XSMax IOS 14.8—watch live: freeze frame for about 2.5 minutes, then plays with no audio, then hangs

iPad Pro IOS v14.8—watch live: freeze frame for about 2.5 minutes, then plays with no audio, then hangs

Only happens with NBC network. Others work fine on Channels.

NBC plays fine with “live tv” on the NBC app (Spectrum provider). Plays fine in the Spectrum app. Plays fine on Safari on the iMac.

200Mbps Spectrum internet, Spectrum Choice TV. Google Nest wifi is as fast as the internet connection.

I also operate totally different systems including a Raspberry Pi that use ATT internet with Hulu as provider. Seems to be the same there.

Don’t know when it started but I first noticed while trying to straighten out the LOCAST debacle on my various systems.

I should add this is only on NBC TVE on Channels DVR.

NBC network works fine on HDHR in the same system, but I operate others that do not have antennas and can't fall back on HDHR.

Are you using Channels v4.5.9 on the ios and tvos devices?

No. Using 4.5.8.

App Store doesn't seem to be offering the 4.5.9, yet.

Got it.

Deleted and re-downloaded.

Results in a minute.

iPad working with 4.5.9.

Apple TV working with 4.5.9.

Thank you.

@tmm1 NBC 10 Boston still freezing up in the web player, latest Beta (2021.09.14.0427). Stream will start up okay, then freeze up and try to restart after a few seconds. Diagnostics sent: 84d05db8-8aae-41d1-bfdf-6b7b2fbff18c

Does it work on nbc.com/live ?

@tmm1 Yes, no issues on nbc.com/live. Please let me know if you want me to try anything else.

@tmm1 Now on 2021.09.16.1925 build. Here is the log for the NBC Boston streaming problem. Still quits after about 16 sec., sometimes recovers for a minute or so but ultimately just quits:
