NEW: Android TV app for Channels DVR (experimental)

I have submitted logs after attempting to play a live channel and a recorded show, and both with video playback issue selected when submitting. Let me know if additional logs are needed. The Nexus player worked great with live and recorded content prior to the last two updates (.24 & .25). Thank you!

EDIT: Just realized the .21 update was a day ago. I did not test between that update and .24. It might have been an issue since that update for the Nexus player.

Uploaded v1.0.26 with improved support for MiBox.

Received logs for Nexus Player, but am not sure why it’s failing to play. Will have to wait til Monday when my shipment arrives and I can test locally.

OK, will check back next week on Nexus Player. Same exact behavior on Amazon Firestick v1 (see thread)

so far it works good now for the MiiBox. Great job to the Devs!

question is, will we be charged again for this app when it exits Beta? any free app for ATV purchasers?

Or all apps are free for active DVR subscribers?

good suggestion!

My Nexus Player arrived, but it’s defective. It won’t play any video, even in the YouTube app. :rage:

Maybe you’re just not holding it right…

Strangely enough the unit I received (from walmart.com) was an EU model, with german writing on the box and an EU plug.

@DebbieFL @mwebster316 Can you confirm that the (gray) HDHR Beta app works as expected on your Nexus Player?

Just tested HDHR on both Live and Recorded. Both are OK (using 6/29/2017 version).

Uploaded v1.0.28 which adds software decoding workaround for Nexus Player.

My Nexus Player is now working with the latest update (sw decoding), both live and recorded content. Also to answer your previous question, the hdhomerun grey is working correctly with live content. Thank you for the update!

I would rather see these long, long strings of shows and movies in Alpha order.

Not too bad now for the 38 shows, but the 460 movies (unuseable) for me.

:innocent:

Now you’re cookin’. Been waiting on this. Excellent.:grinning:

If alpha order is not of interest…maybe devs could utilize api for voice search (ala Plex).

When I tried top level voice search on the Shield, it listed the movie I was looking for as being available on Plex server. My recording of this movie was ONLY in Channels movie recordings and I had my Plex Server pointing to the Channels movies recordings folder.

Just for kicks, I tried the Android app on my Sony TV. The guide repeats every show four times. As such, all shows after the current show are not listed at the correct time.

Note, the repeats happen for the later shows also, not just what’s playing now.

Anyone else seeing this?

Huh strange. What version of android?

Can you snap a pic of what you’re seeing?

Version 7.0
Security patch level June 1, 2017
Kernel version 3.10.79

I'll try reinstalling. [Edit: Same issue after reinstall.]

Edit: Android app ver: 1.0.30
DVR version: 2017.07.13.0055
