Newsmax gone from TVE?

Looks like Newsmax can be added to the TVE stations removed. It's been replaced by Newsmax2 since the can't have Newsmax be free via app with their current cable agreements. So a Newsmax+ subscription service was enabled today and Newsmax2 replaces the free feed.

If your current subscription service, i.e. Spectrum, provides NewsMax+ in your package, you can use the Chrome interface to add it back to your CHDVR lineup.

I actually have Spectrum and can't really confirm this. Newsmax (6764) keeps remapping to what is actually Newsmax2. Other channels that I don't get will simply come back as unauthorized. The scanning needs to come back with the formerly free Newsmax as Newsmax2. Spectrum though has Newsmax on a higher tier than I can get which I always thought was weird given that up until today that it was actually a free channel that they were trying to extort a premium for.

I have NewsMax mapped in CHDVR via TVE/Spectrum and I can agree that the guide for the NewsMax channel is still mapped to NewsMax+, but the actual programming is NewsMax2. Its the same with Pluto. However, on my Spectrum app, I still get the original NewsMax programming, now NewsMax+. My link is Spectrum TV. I use this link via BETA: Chrome Capture for Channels - #1143 by arwrite to be able to still pull the now subscription based NewsMax in to CHDVR.

The BETA: Chrome Capture for Channels doesn't allow for any recording, correct?
And as of right now, TVE doesn't work for Newsmax as I indicated in the original post.

I can record any channel mapped into CHDVR, including the BETA Chrome channels.

Actually, you can record the channels. I've recorded several stuff with CC4C

I haven't taken the time to review the thread yet -- it's huge.

Are you going to add newsmax2 back, it was working but there was incorrect guide data

You can add it yourself with the kister method

And you can put the gracenote station id 121162 in the m3u to get guide data

{
  "type": "Digital Broadcast Network",
  "name": "Newsmax 2",
  "callSign": "NEWSMX2",
  "stationId": "121162",
  "bcastLangs": ["en"],
  "preferredImage": {
    "uri": "https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s121162_h3_aa.png?w=360&h=270",
    "height": "270","width": "360","primary": "true","category": "Logo","text": "","tier": ""
  },
  "videoQuality": {"signalType": "Digital","videoType": "SDTV","truResolution": ""}
}

You could also grab the master playlist from https://www.newsmaxtv.com/n2 and use it in a custom channel

The master playlist from https://www.newsmaxtv.com/n2 is a much better feed than YouTube:

#EXTINF:-1 tvc-guide-stationid="121162" channel-id="NEWSMX2" channel-number=".3", NEWSMAX2

Definitely better, although I get a different Master Playlist URL.
What's up with the Max Headroom video on the YouTube feed? The audio is fine, but the video seems like it's 5 fps.

Yeah ur right there are two playlist urls and the other one matches the guide data. Thanks.

I wonder if it is possible to create Newsmax Plus custom channel, with purchased subscription, and provide usernams/password to custom channel?

Looks like someone fixed the YouTube feed, although the direct stream from https://www.newsmaxtv.com/n2 offers higher resolution.

Welcome to the Fabulous Channels Support Forum. I basically have the same question as you. Is there any way that a paid subscription App to News Max Plus be added to Channels? I was looking at Streamlink I think. I don't mind the paywall as Newsmax was forced to stop the free feed or lose their Cable revenue. However, I won't subscribe since currently there is no way to watch Newsmaxplus except to continuously sit in front of your TV. There is No pause, rewind or DVR capabilities.

So Newsmax Plus doesn't even have OnDemand capability of all their shows? I might be interested if I could have Live access plus OnDemand if I missed a show.
