Plex Live TV Channels M3U?

I’m able to receive around 408 Plex Channels at of the 600.
Is that about right?
Thanks

408 channels is what I get using the "Gracenote" playlist. There's another 218 in the "No Gracenote" playlist. So, using the "two-source method" I get about 626 channels.

How do you add both playlist into channels?
Thanks

I'm not really good at explaining how to do stuff. But, I'll give it a shot... :slightly_smiling_face:

I'm assuming from your post that you probably have the first Custom Source added.
For instance, this is my "Plex with Gracenote EPG" source, which has the 408 channels:
Source URL:
http://192.168.1.100:7776/plex/playlist.m3u?regions=local&gracenote=include
Of course, you'll have to replace my "192.168.1.100:7776" with your own DVR IP address and Plex Port #.
XMLTV Guide Data
Leave Blank
Refresh daily

You can create a second custom source without the Gracenote EPG
Source URL:
http://192.168.1.100:7776/plex/playlist.m3u?regions=local&gracenote=exclude
XMLTV Guide Data:
http://192.168.1.100:7776/plex/epg.xml
Refresh every hour
Again, in each URL, replace "192.168.1.100:7776" with your own DVR IP address and Plex Port
This additional source should give you the other 218 channels. They will have minimal guide data.

Ok, got it,
Do you create a separate plex custom source👍
You cannot add them together.

It is possible to have a single combined source with all 626 channels.
Source URL:
http://192.168.1.100:7776/plex/playlist.m3u?regions=local
XML Guide Data:
http://192.168.1.100:7776/plex/epg.xml
Refresh every 1 hour

As I understand, it's preferable to separate the two sources based upon the Gracenote data availability.
I'm sure that there's someone more knowledgeable than I, who can help explain why that is so.

It comes down to matching. Channels uses Gracenote as the core backend of metadata. XML metadata doesn't match this, so you end up with two "versions" of the same program. I explain it in more detail and clarity here:

@sdarnell63, due to this, you want the Gracenote data whenever you can get it. Also, there's two weeks worth instead of a few days. Further, you're already paying for Gracenote data with your Channels subscription, so always better to use what you've invested in!

Now, if you or anyone is going to be adding multiple playlists and want an easier way to manage them with Channels, then I'll just plug myself here with this:

Thanks for all of the helpful advice👍
It does get confusing

One question,
When not using Gracenote for the .epg
All I get is this. Really no usable guide data.
Thanks

You need to use the XMLTV URL in your source settings to get the Plex guide data for those non-Gracenote channels.

Modify the settings for your second source to include:

Ok, got it👍
Thanks for all of the help

Looks like you have a space on either side of the second colon. Those should be removed.

Ok, thanks.
Removed the spaces.

Seems some Plex Channels not have proper Guide data for a bit now.
Ice Road Truckers channel, i have noticed several times lately just says "Ice Road Truckers()"

At the moment, the guide data is mirroring the same channel I have on Samsung TV, with a tiny offeset.
However, even though both channels have the same name, and are presented by "History Channel" they do air different episodes. So not sure why the guide data is in fact wrong for the Plex source.

I do look at the actual Plex Live TV website via web browser, and , at times, it has no guide data for that channel, just had the show title, no episode name, one time it has just the current date/time in each slot, right now, is has full data, but it is the same as Samsung Tv guide data, but it is not the correct episode, i think. One of the channels is wrong, cause they for sure are 2 very different episodes.

I'm using only the Plex EPG and although that channels loads 7 days of guide data, only the next 24 hrs have Episode Titles and Season, Episode numbers.
The rest are generically Titled Ice Road Truckers () with the Episode Title equal to the airing date.

On my setup, I've noticed I only get a complete guide refresh (7 days EPG) each evening around 6pm, even though CDVR is refreshing it hourly.

Does anyone else have an issue with the stream freezing as soon as it gets to a commercial?

Anyone having issue with the Gracenote playlists? It's showing up as 0 channels now.
Container log:

[INFO - PLEX] Update Today's EPG data
[INFO - PLEX] Updating TMSID for 428 items
[INFO - PLEX] Stations Identified for local: 648/648
[INFO - PLEX] Full Playlist: 648
[INFO - PLEX] Gracenote Playlist: 0

Yep, this just started appearing in the container log this morning.
Before this I was getting 390 Gracenote channels.

And restarting the container doesn't fix it.

@joagomez any ideas?
