TVE - Discovery networks not tuning?

$ podman --version
podman version 3.2.3
$ uname -a
Linux bragi.host.tld 5.13.9-100.fc33.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Aug 9 12:04:50 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Do you need more?

Ahh, container then.

Yes. I have always run Channels in some sort of container. (Just as I run every service on my networks in some sort of isolated environment.) At first it was a systemd-nspawn container on Arch; but now it's a single container in a podman pod on Fedora. This way I get better process isolation, easier SELinux contexts, and easier interaction between other containers within the same pod.

I think it may be related to the Channels DVR version as I had it working when I migrated it from a Docker Container to the Synology package on v2021.08.15.1846. Hard to say since I had issues both with playing and authenticating Discovery Network Channels at the time.

Yes, but based upon what I've seen in this thread, the NBC TVE/MSNBC one, and the NFL Network one, I've been holding on to an old pre-release version that I know is working for all of these stations.

@babsonnexus thanks for posting that.
I was about to try that version until I remembered this.
My guess is that you will have problems when it comes time to re-authenticate any Discovery Network channel besides Science.
@tmm1 said he switched all channels except science back to the old code on 8/15 (2021.08.15.1846?)

And the new code that auth'd everything through Science was introduced on 8/12 (2021.08.12.1816?)

Not sure if it's possible, but would be nice if the devs can post a version when they mention a new prerelease. I've been looking at the date/time of the post, convert to UTC time and guessing that's the prerelase version number.

Just tried 2021.08.18.1859 and still no success logging into Science Channel.

Same here.
I even went nuclear and deleted chrome from the data folder while the Synology package was stopped.
Of course Channels DVR recovers nicely from that and redownloaded chrome 89.0.4389.114.
Still the same error "no login form found" with the tve_error_screenshot.png image showing Xfinity Provider not found.

I can watch live on their website with both Firefox and MS Edge.

Please try v2021.08.18.2148. Rescan SCI after upgrading and submit diagnostics once it completes.

No luck here using 2021.08.18.2148.

Okay it's working everywhere except on Synology it seems.

Wondering if it's DSM 7.0 only and a possible permissions issue.

Not a hardware issue for me but science channel isn’t working for my optimum account but it’s working for Verizon.

It's not in your Optimum package.

@tmm1 It definitely is part of my optimum package, streaming it right now in another tab.

I tried it on DSM 6.2.4 and it seems to work.

Would a test be to SSH into my Synology running DSM 7.0 and try
chown -R root some_directory
chmod -R u+s some_directory

Disk permissions are not the cause of the error. Everything is working except part of the sciencechannel.com page doesn't load and no providers are shown.

I was able to reproduce on DSM7 so I'm looking into a fix.

Try upgrading to v2021.08.19.0020, then rescan SCI only and submit diagnostics.
