ALPHA: Import TV local content into DVR

Changing the Service logon credential to my Windows credential did the trick. Now the shows are scanning as expected. Thank you for your help!!

You welcome.

Will tryout this weekend. Have around 200 shows (not including one-off's, specials and documentaries) I can throw at it. I'm still massaging some old ones to get to my preferred layout of something like this;
./TV Shows/100 Days Wild (2020)/Season 01/100 Days Wild (2020) - S01E01 - Off Grid Under Pressure [2020-08-20].ts

I know some shows/episodes are not in TMS/gracenote/zap2it, or they have the show but not the episodes. Do you still want us to report those?

Ah,I was remembering wrong. It’s still sorting “The”
correctly on tvOS and iOS but the web interface doesn’t. I was looking at the web interface fixing a few matches.

Any ideas what this error means?
2020/09/04 01:38:24.609156 [ERR] Scanner error walking \192.168.1.24\TV_Shows: Rel: can't make \192.168.1.24\TV_Shows\Archer (2009)\Season 1\Archer - S01E01 - Mole Hunt (Aka Pilot).mkv relative to \192.168.1.24\TV_Shows

When I input my UNC path it shows me all my files in the window and all looks fine but then when I hit import I get this error.

Sample ....
\\EDSYNOLOGY\Public\TVShows

It seems that importing filenames that have a ' or ’ isn't scanning correctly. Example: Black Clover - S01E52 - Whoever's Strongest Wins (WEBDL-1080p).mkv doesn't get picked up. Same with Boruto - Naruto Next Generations - S01E101 - Jugo’s Reinforcements (WEBDL-1080p).mkv. Also if there's a filename with that issue then it also seems to stop scanning the whole season (could be show, both of these just have one season with a LOT of episodes).

The new release fixed the lack of UNC path support for me. I see some sorting issues but haven't dug in to see if any inconsistencies in file naming could be causing it. I do run it as a service as well.

Nice addition to Channels!

Is there an error in the logs?

Please submit diagnotics

I have a weird issue. I imported my "archived TV shows" that I acquired before I switched to Channels. I have the files arranged like this: \NAS\Archived TV\ShowName\Season X\files. Among these folders I have Yellowstone Season 1 and Season 2. The files in Season 2 were correctly imported. Below the season 2 files SHOULD be the season 1 files. Instead, I have Season 3 files which were recorded by Channels and are in my current Channels DVR\TV folder. Under the Channels Shows folder, I now have Yellowstone Season 2 showing up along with the (channels recorded) Season 3. The Season 2 files are actually in the Archived TV folder.

Welcome to the world of Alpha

Nope, nothing out of the ordinary in the logs, it's the same line that everything else has and nothing extra:

2020/09/02 19:18:35.755006 [SCN] Imported TV show Black Clover/Season 1/Black Clover - S01E51 - Proof of Rightness (HDTV-1080p).mkv
2020/09/02 19:18:36.188703 [SCN] Imported TV show Black Clover/Season 1/Black Clover - S01E52 - Whoever's Strongest Wins (WEBDL-1080p).mkv
2020/09/02 19:18:36.649294 [SCN] Imported TV show Black Clover/Season 1/Black Clover - S01E53 - Behind the Mask (WEBDL-1080p).mkv

Thanks for the info. Looks like season 1 has a space between "Sx Ex", which is causing the scan issue. I will fix that case.

So what do you mean by not picked up? It not showing up on the client? Or the web UI?

I renamed the files and saw no change after removing the import and re-importing

Can you submit diagnostics from your DVR

Sure. I just checked the TV shows library on my Shield Yellowstone S01 is still missing. The Web UI is the same.
Logs have been submitted as 1189ff91-4266-4588-ba1f-b59445636ecc

I might have figured out the problem. Season 1 is .WTV files

Ah okay. I couldn't see the extension in your screenshots.

Changing the extension to MP4 allows correct import and playback. Sorry to jump the gun with a non-issue!
