Pretty sure it is a two-step process. I think this is what I encountered.
Once you add your NFL.com credentials you will see the option to authenticate with TV provider on the EPlus webpage. NFL.com account can be a free one; NFL+ not required?
That is correct. You need to sign in with an NFL account first but no NFL subscription is required. After you complete that sign in and the NFL provider is enabled in EPlusTV, you will see a few additional authentication options under NFL in the EPlusTV web interface, where you can sign in with your TV or streaming provider.
@tonywagner and @TJN basically covered it, but here's some additional directions for getting started with NFL:
The original post above is a bit dated because it references the old Environment Variables, but the approach is otherwise the same. In EPlusTV, authenticate with the NFL.com login first, then check the box for your provider (i.e., TVE), and after that check off NFL Network (and/or RedZone if you have access). In the end, you'll look something like this:
Have you tried restarting the EPlusTV container? What do the EPlusTV container logs say?
I could post logs later. Is there a better logic for ESPN channels ?
Have you tested espn4cc ? Does it still work? I'm using prismcast since it works on new chrome and I'm creating a script that takes alow quality screen grab and determines how black it is and if it's 90% black or more refreshing the ESPN page for linear playback. Does espn4cc work with linear?
No ESPN streams will work in EPlusTV anymore, since they are all DRM. I just haven't gotten around to removing the providers from the list.
Just an FYI, in ESPN4cc4c, I'm able to watch ESPN, ESPN+, and ESPN2.
That's great but it doesnt seem to work linear. Does yours play linear?
Not sure what you mean. In EPlus, both Espn and Espn2 were listed as linear channels. BTW, SEC Network works as well, which is also listed as a linear channel in EPlus.
As @tonywagner mentioned above ESPN linear channels in EPlus went away with DRM. The channels you mentioned as available in ESPN4CC only appear in the guide when there are live events broadcast on those channels. You will not find them as always available.
Ok, I didn't know that Sportscenter, Getup, and First Take (for examples) were considered live events.
It’s usually the first showings for the studio shows that are tagged ‘live’ but yes those will show up in the guide. Just not every showing.
There is a “live” SportsCenter on at this time.
I got it to work. football is coming on soon and I want to able to record and leave espn on.
.its a little sloppy . It reloads the ESPN stream.which resolves to the actual url , after the monitor recognizes a dead stream it reloads quickly and okays but uses old title for 3-5 minutes the title changes and the stream reloads again so suboptimal it would be nice if I could create something that grabs the proper url immediately and passes it off for a single load
to the best of my knowledge the way espn deeplinks work even for linear channels is by program - not by channel, so you can't just leave the feed on indefinitely like it is a regular channel.
My script takes this into consideration
I haven't done it successfully yet how fast does the deep link take to work? Cc4c takes about 25 seconds to be fully playable. Do deep links let you exit immediately or do you have to manually leave the app and go back to channels
Don't know. I do not use stream links directly.
For the Rangers games on BZZR in EPlusTV, CDVR seems think all the games of a series are the same game. It will record the first game of the series, but the 2nd and 3rd only record if I've deleted the previous game and have my pass set to "Re-record deleted episodes." Usually, this is not a problem since I would watch the game and delete it the same night it was played. But sometimes I'll miss a game or forget to delete it, etc.
Is there a way I can set up my pass differently that will avoid this and record all the games of a series? Here is a screenshot of my pass settings and of the matches it found, showing that it is set to record tonight's game, but will not be recording tomorrow's.
