Fox disappeared from Channel List

Thank you for responding. My source is Hulu + Live TV. I am not using a tuner. I believe TVE is “TV Everywhere,” correct? I did initially consider setting up an antenna and Homerun tuner but was advised that was not necessary, as Hulu provides all the local channels (CBS, ABC, NBC & Fox). The NBC channels were never available/visible on Channels guide, but Fox was until very recently.

NBC and PBS are no longer available with Channels DVR TVE. Used to be.
I thought the only FOX station still working with Channels DVR TVE was FOX 5 WNYW in NY.

Fox TVE 6002 not working

What kind of weird setups do you people have? Fox 5 NY has always worked, has never gone down, nor has it ever disappeared in the close to 10 years (I think close 10 years now or whatever it’s been). Latest pre-release, simple mac M1 setup, no weird 36 docker setups or whatever nonsense. Only difference I have is that I run my own recursive dns servers. No dns query leaves my network. Do I perform this action (the toggling on/off) from the Server on my computer or from Settings on the app on my TV?

HOW TO: Rescan TVE Experimental Local Network channels (ABC,CBS,FOX)

If it fails to add FOX, you'll see an error like this in your Channels DVR log, like I do

If it adds FOX, let us know which local station it is that still works.

I tried to perform this action from the Advanced settings. I unchecked and rechecked the appropriate box and it scanned (buffered) for a short time and then stopped. The box is now checked but the system never prompted me to do anything further so my situation is still the same re Fox disappearing from the guide.

Try it again during prime time programming. If it fails again look under support> logs tab and report what the error in the logs is.

There was no actual “error” code that came up. I just waited for the system to prompt me to do something and it never did. It just restored the unchecked box to a checked box.

Im just outside of NYC and the local Fox wnyw finaly quit a few weeks ago No amount of toggling restarts nor older channels software got it back......my new antenna and hdhomerun gets it very nicely now.

It either scans and adds it, or doesn't add it.
If it didn't add FOX Local, check your Channels DVR log after you rescan

I don’t see any error messages when looking at the logs. All I see are messages about “fetching” and “indexing” of guide data for 113 channels. It also says it “pruned” 0 expired groups from X-TVE.

Since it appears the developers aren't going to resurrect Fox TVE 6002, this would be a good thread to discuss alternatives that bring your local Fox station into Channels DVR. Please don't post them to Fox TVE 6002 not working keep that thread for discussing the Fox local TVE channel.

In Channels DVR I get my local Fox station with my Xfinity cable sub and a HDHR Prime tuner with cable card. Of course there are no more cable providers offering cable cards, so if you don't have one you need to find other alternatives.

A SD HDHR OTA tuner might work for you if you can receive your local Fox with it and it's not ATSC 3.0 DRM'd.

Anyone using other methods?

There are a lot of HDMI IP encoders available on Amazon these days, under brand names like URayCoder and iseevy These have been discussed a bit in the past here: I picked one up to try it out, and it works quite well. You can choose between H264/H265, select the bitrate and a lot of other options. I tried the ESPN+ & FOX Sports with Custom Channels via EPlusTV project and although it does pull in the Fox Sports channels as Linear channels, it only shows sporting events on your local Fox station. It doesn't have a Linear channel option for the local Fox station. And in my case Fox Sports mis-identifies my local Fox station, while Fox gets it right.

Has anyone tested if fox one stuff is DRM? fox local/foxnews etc is on the website but not sure if its DRM.

I tested the second day it came out and I could open the streams in VLC, so no DRM at that time. I have not tested since then so I cannot say for sure that they have not implement it since then.
