Fox One streaming service

Interesting news from Fox, this fall they are planning to launch a streaming service that includes all Fox channels from all their sports, news, business, and locals. Hopefully they won’t be DRM’d and one of the community developers would be willing to build a Fox docker container to feed these channels into CDVR.

They are addressing the dwindling number of cable TV subscribers and possibly the end of broadcast TV.

Free service if you are a DirecTV subscriber.

So this new service launches on August 21st, and it is supposed to include Fox-owned local channels. It's also supposed to be free to anyone that has a provider with credentials. Will channels be able to access this content after it launches?

Right now I can't get my local Fox via TVE nor can most other people. The station is WOFL in Orlando and it is owned by Fox.

The streams will likely be DRM protected.
I would look to see if on eof the ad-ons will eventually work with the fox one app.

I'm not so sure, none of the FS1 etc. streams today are protected, neither is the ESPN family. They're all available via TVE, all I want is my local channel. The fox locals were never drm'ed, the streams just went away.

I'm sure I could get it to work with the new fox one app and my encoder but it's already tied up a lot with NBC sports. I was hoping that I could just authenticate and get my Fox local directly.

You just answered your own question.

DRM or not, no TVE without streams. And this is most likely because they want to push people to use their new app.

This statement is absurd. Fox is one of the few that haven’t jumped on the DRM bandwagon. If the service offers the ability to stream on PC via web page it will likely not be DRM and likely a community developer could build a docker container like Fubo to integrate with Channels.

If it can stream on the web might be able to get it to work with chrome for channels.

I can confirm that as of right now my local Fox channel does not have DRM on it via Fox One. I was able to open up the m3u8u in VLC and watch the live stream.

This is great news. How about FS1 and FS2, Fox News?
I wish I had some time, I’d try to build a container for it.

FS1, FS2, Fox News and Fox Business all worked in VLC as well.

I am also hoping that someone can take one of the vlc-bridge containers and get it to work for Fox One. I have all the fox channels through the fubo bridge, so it is less important for me but would be great to get one working for anyone without fubo.

I don't currently have time to build a container for it either but would be happy to help someone else here and there if they decided to tackle the task.

Would love to see a vlc-bridge setup for fox One.
Very nice.

Agreed, especially now that the E + TV container no longer works and the dev has unfortunately passed away.

FYI, if you are a DirecTV subscriber, you have access to FOX One for free.

Yeah I was able to log in with my provider, Hotwire, and everything works.

Tried selecting both of my Providers, Xfinity and YTTV and they both work to stream on their website https://www.fox.com.

Previously, when going to the fox website, there was no way to even stream from it. Fox TVE 6002 not working - #34 by chDVRuser

I have this working with at least some of the channels with ADBTuner, including getting access to my local affiliate:

TonyWagner took over the EplusTV image and so far he has fixed the broken Gotham Channels and he may look into FS1/2 next

Yeah I saw, that's great. But honestly Fox would be better now as a vlc-bridge since the full linear channels are available - E+ only covered the sports events on Fox which was fine for me, but it's a lot easier with the guide to have the full channels available not just certain events.

I tested out streaming my local Fox channel now and it works just like it did before it went away on TVE - you get everything.
