LinkPi encoder family

Actually I bought my ENC5-V2 from AliExpress and avoided all tariffs.

What services will you be using for streaming TV?

@jsfullam was able to recover his encoder but the instructions were in Chinese. I was able to use Claude to translate them and make them much more clear. Sharing the process here (uploaded to Archive.org) in case someone needs it someday.

Another observation, sometimes when rebooting the enc5 via the web interface, in addition to one of the HDMI inputs dropping off, the device seems to believe that it has a second network interface.

Sometimes when it's in this state, the network connection repeatedly drops out every 30 seconds (exactly). Like the HDMI dropout, the only thing that fixes this is power cycling the device.

It must be detecting itself as another device. I wonder what fac.php says in that state.

I have both a LinkPi ENC1-V3 and ENC5-V2 that I think I am going to sell if anyone is interested.

I’m a long-time on and off Channels user. Mostly because I live in Canada, so things like TVE don’t work here and some of the awesome community tools don’t. But, I was running ADBTuner with the LinkPis because our version of Xfinity Stream wasn’t available on AppleTV until this past November, and enjoyed it a lot.

It’s been a fun setup to tinker with (thank you to everyone who shared settings in here, I benefited greatly!) I’m just planning to simplify my setup a bit so if anyone is interested in the encoders feel free to send me an offer — just factor in shipping will probably be something like $20 USD and you’ll probably have to pay some amount of import. But, you'd still come out ahead compared to new I would think.

How much would you want for the ENC-5 V2? I wouldn't mind a spare depending on the price.

Don't suppose anyone knows what the username and password is for this device? Just arrived but nothing in the box or on the device telling me the username and password. Sent message through purchased website but says they are closed on the weekends. Grrr!!!!

Were is the best place to buy a new LinkPi ENC5-V2 encoder online?

Amazon is good. I ordered another one exactly a week ago, and it's already in the US and through Customs.

Good News everyone! lol
I figured out how to make use of my old exvist encoder. it seems to only show a smooth picture via rtsp, but I could not get any cdvr/extensions to actually load the rtsp, it just rolled over to the exvist's inferior http or wouldn't load. just let the linkpi translate under the decode tab. it does not need to be decoded/re-encoded, the linkpi just translates rtsp://10.0.0.120:554/live/1_0 to http://10.0.0.121/live/stream2

I can get my camera's rtsp feed directly into cdvr, however I'm trying to recreate this into channels

I can get the mix and everything to show on the dashboard, but I can't seem to load the mix even in vlc.

anyone else use the mix feature?

I just bought one from YooYeeToo directly. It's sitting at the airport in China, hopefully I'll have it next week. They used YunExpress and USPS.

No, I used the return to sender feature after I bought that POS.

Lol.

I promised I'd share my overkill setup once my new ENC5-V2 arrived. The Osprey stack and ENC5-V2's are using ah4c and the little custom mini PC is running CH4C with 3 outputs on an old Quadro P400 I had lying around. My server below that runs Unraid and pretty much everything else, my hand rolled Channels DVR docker, ah4c etc.

Bruh, you make my setup look puny.:joy:

And I just got some PoEs too so...yeah. It was more messy than this but still

I have the exact same antenna and what I ended up figuring out I had to do was use command strips to stick it to my wall, but low to like the ground, not even near a window. As soon as I did that, I started getting my local ABC station.

Not sure if anyone knows about this site. It's completely in Chinese but it's official and it's kind of helpful if you need to dig something up about these encoders although it's a bit of a pain to translate.

The Google Translate function built into the Chrome Browser does a pretty good job:
