Provider - DirecTV

I believe this happens when you use an email instead of your username (or vice versa).

This account never had a username, and all other TVE logins authenticate fine. (Even outside of Channels, such as through HBO Go, or the DirecTV app, the email is the login that works.)

(On an un-related note, is it possible to change the title of this thread to DirecTV? I was trying to find it by searching, and didn't find it at first because of the misspelling.)

Edit: I discovered the root cause of this. DirecTV expired my password, but didn't inform me. It was only by trying to login to their app, which informed me my password was expired and apparently only temporary. (I'm not sure how having the same password for over a decade is temporary, but AT&T, so …)

Okay I might be confusing this with a DISH issue then.

I also am having the same chrome auth time out error on discovery networks, using dtv seems to have just started. All other channels seem to be working fine. I am able stream from discovery go website in browser.

In case it helps anyone else, I figured out on mine what was happening. Apparently my dtv account password got changed so the old one wasn’t working. I deleted source and reset it up and now it works fine. What tipped me off was I went to dtv website and it said my account was locked so had to reset password again. Due to too many attempts with wrong password. In channels I didn’t get password error and other channels were still working. Go the chrome auth_timed_out error.

BBC America not working
same on their webpage, there is problem with their live stream.

I no longer get Fox Sports Southwest or ABC with my Directv TVE. I've had access to both for months

I've lost Fox Sports Midwest, which is now Bally Sports Midwest. I'm wondering if its because both have been taken over by Bally Sports... Can someone please look into this?

Bally Sports RSNs are all DRM protected now, and have been removed/disabled.

DirecTV has recently changed their backend authentication server/login process, and it has been causing some problems. Updating to the latest pre-release, removing the source, and re-adding DirecTV seems to be working for most people as a fix.

DirecTV also allows for creating "secondary" accounts in addition to the primary account. For most networks, TV Everywhere access is granted to these secondary accounts. However, the authentication only works for networks using the newer login form. Networks that are still using the old login form (NBCUniversal, A+E Networks, ESPN) will fail with a username/password mismatch error. Unfortunately, at this time that means you cannot use secondary accounts with Channels, because authentication against NBC is what Channels is currently using to determine if it should continue trying to verify the account.

When I readded the DirecTV source, it seemed to be stuck for a very long time (several minutes) on verifying access to NBC (the first channel in the list). When I saw that, I thought TVE was over in Channels and that would have been the end for me because this is my primary source. It finally got through and I have my 181 channels back. :sweat_smile: For now. :crossed_fingers:

Re-adding the source seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time. Also, some channels from a network will scan in, and others may not; for example Hallmark did not scan in, but Hallmark Drama did. In those cases, selectively rescanning the individual channels with issues seems to be the way to go.

All, I’m having issues with the NFL channel authenticating properly with direct TV. All the other channels are authenticating fine and I can authenticate properly using the nfl.com website and the nfl Apple TV app. The error I’m seeing is “no login form found”

Click the down arrow next to Check for Update and select Prerelease.
