Provider - YouTube TV

Here is my log file relative to You Tube TV Provider. I have stopped using firefox on Linux and this log is from an attempt on a Windows 11 laptop. I am not sure caused the reference to Chrome (on the 5th line) as Chrome is not on this laptop.

Probably need to update chrome via the Support > Troubleshooting page

It doesn't matter what browser you use yourself. The DVR runs a headless chrome on your NAS that it uses to connect to TVE streams.

This was extremely helpful. I was able to update Chrome on the troubleshooting page and it got me past the CAPTCHA issue I have been facing for over a week. I was not aware that this troubleshooting feature existed. Still not sure why Chrome did not update automatically with a DVR update on Synology NAS. I had been chasing this as a forced 2FA issue with YTTV.

Thanks for that, I had no idea the DVR was running a headless version of Chrome! Upgraded Chrome and it allowed me to login using my normal Google password.

Where is the troubleshooting page? I have a Synology with the same issues. Appreciate any assistance!

In the "Support" dropdown of the DVR web page.

I am attempting to add YouTube TV as a Channels source for the first time and am getting the image error below. I am using a secondary account without 2-factor authentication and have successfully logged in to nbc.com/live in Chrome. Are there any ways around this verification screen?

Have you also ensured your non-2FA Google account is not recoverable (i.e., no phone number or email address for recovery?). Here's my non-2FA non-recoverable account info; note no phone number or recovery email.

I have removed my recovery phone and email, but I still get the same error. Do I need to start from scratch with a new account?

I don't know. You shouldn't have to if your account truly is non-2FA. I have a secondary account dedicated to YTTV, primary is 2FA and recoverable and have had only slight hiccups with my secondary (see my post about security alerts and how I got around them in this thread). But I never had recovery information for my secondary, unlike you.

I created a new account from scratch and that seemed to do the trick.

Excellent!

You might want to see what I ran into for future reference:

I just had to re-install my Channels docker on my Unraid server and after re-setting up my YTTV account as a source and scanning the channels, I no longer have any of my local broadcasters getting populated. I'm in the NYC area, so all of the Big 4 stations are O&Os. They show up fine when I go to YTTV itself, but they don't show up in my list of available options in Channels - even if I go to Settings > Manage Lineup > Edit. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be happening?

Look under experimental settings on the web UI?

Thank you! I completely forgot about that. :man_facepalming:

I can't seem to login to YouTube TV. Keep getting an "invalid password" screen even though I'm cutting and pasting the password and can use it to login to youtubetv.com. I was mashing the Accept button on my phone every time I tried it but no luck.

How do I debug this?

I've got the same issue going on. I made the mistake of removing my youtube dvr account from channels and now I can't add it back because it is prompting for an SMS code even though I removed my phone number.

Asking for an SMS code isn't the 'same issue' as invalid password.

Have you ensured that 2FA is OFF? Did you remove your email address as well as phone number from recovery options?

Yes, I have removed everything from recovery options. Google is still trying to send sms messages to my account.

Does anyone know what the headless command that channels dvr uses to connect to youtube tv? I'd like to try and emulate it in ubuntu and see if I can figure out what is going on.
