Stirr for Channels

I figured out that I typed 8080 instead of 8181. I think I did the exact same thing and year and half ago when first set it up. How do I remove the 8080 so I can type it in correctly?

You'll have to delete and recreate. Are you using portainer? If so you just click the duplicate/edit button and make your changes and it does the delete and recreate for you.

No, I'm running Docker Desktop. But by using the command line help I was able to figure out how to delete Stirr and then type in the correct command and everything took off. This solved the other problem I had with Docker not starting.

I did realize I need another long term solution for this because Docker Desktop no longer supports my Mac. When I did this a couple years ago I upgraded to Mojave because that was the oldest Docker Desktop supported. I just upgraded to Catalina, which is why I'm going through all this stuff. But Docker Desktop doesn't go back this far any more. Ugh. But for now I'm back in business.

It takes like 2 seconds to use the non-docker method.

I see that now, but in the past the non-docker method was pretty lacking. I would still have needed to deal with docker because I didn't want to leave it the way it was.

What method was that?

Many moons ago, but I believe it was simply putting an M3U url directly into channels with nothing else. I may be getting my stuff mixed up, but Docker was the only reliable way to go when the Docker version first came out.

Having issues with ad detection on Qello. The segments are detected properly but some ad segments are classified as programs

What's "Quello"?

$ curl -s https://nocords.xyz/stirr/playlist.m3u | grep -i quello
$

Sorry, Qello

I just pushed a new version that improves the data by:

  • setting the Stirr provided channel number in the M3U
  • adds Stirr provided category to XMLTV
  • ensures we are XMLTV spec compliant as much as possible by using expected channel-id's and two character language codes

Let me know if you have any problems

FYI, especially for those who have noticed that Stirr has no stations and no scheduled programs starting later today, here is the current status and what's (maybe?) to come:

Cool. There is a promising future for STIRR.
Thank you for sharing the news. :slightly_smiling_face:

The program guide info is missing for most of the channels for some reason. I'm seeing with on both the robbiet480/stirr-for-channels docker and the mjh URLs as well
https://i.mjh.nz/Stirr/all.m3u8
https://i.mjh.nz/Stirr/all.xml

Stirr has gone away and is under new ownership.

Read the post two above yours.

Hello. I'm having trouble getting this set up. I set it up in portainer but it is constantly restarting. Before I set it to automatically restart, the container would deploy but immediately stop with Error Code 2. Now that it is on automatically restart, it just stops and restarts over and over. Curious if anyone has come across this or has any ideas.

Stirr doesn't have live channels since new owner took over.

Not true. There is Live channels, just no guide data.
(the first channel 100 Always Funny fails to load, but the rest of them play fine, on their site)

@robbiet480 your container throws these errors and exits
