Conditional visibility in Library (if no Stream Link version)

As I start using Stream Link Manager for Channels more and more, it would be nice to have a way to prioritize Stream Links over recorded versions of movies in the Library, without manually have to hide and unhide items.

Background:

I have an Indiana Jones movie collection, and all were recorded with commercials. I’ve gone in and set all those to “Hidden”. In their place, I’ve put in Stream Link versions (Amazon Prime Video). If they disappear from streaming services, and thus get removed from my Library, it would be nice to have my recorded versions be displayed.

(As I think about this, I realize it may be impossible, if there’s no way for the system to recognize that two items are the same thing, but in different formats)

This is more of an overarching issue with duplicate items in the library in general.

But your point for source prioritization (and not just the traditional resolution and quality) is a good one that we’ll keep in mind when this is finally tackled.

Voted again (as I do every time this topic comes up), but this is one of the longest outstanding features I've been looking for:

Merge Movies of same name but different resolutions

It would be great if Channels could display movies in such a way that you only see one poster for one movie that has two different resolutions. Then, when you are ready to watch the movie there is a drop down selector of some kind to choose which version you want to watch, ie. 1080 or 4K. This is how it works in Emby and Plex. I am not sure how difficult that is to achieve on the programming side but it would clean up the UI quite a bit.

Merge Movies of same name but different resolutions

I would like to extend this request to any Movie/Show that has multiple sources (recordings, personal files, Stream Links) to get them to merge to one item and then get to select which source you want to play from. [image] [image] [image] This is how TiVO works: [image]

Local content versus strmlnk

If there is local content (an mp4) and a strmlnk to a streaming service with that same title is there a way to ask channels to prioritize one over the other rather than to show both in the movie library.

Multiple Local Source Selection

For some movies, I have multiple local sources, such as a strmlink and local file from a ripped bluray or a DVR recording etc. This might also be an issue for other users who have strmlink for the same movie from multiple providers. I'm currently ripping Christmas Movies to create a virtual channel but already have those movies as strmlink to my iTunes purchases where I have a 4k upgrade. If I want to watch on demand then I would select the iTunes purchase, but for virtual channels I would watch…

Channels needs to differentiate when there are 2 or more of the same Movie!

Some movies I have 2 of. A 1080P version and 4K version. They are located in different directories. When I pull up the movies folder in the Channels app under Library it pulls in all Movies which is great. However if there are 2 (or more) of the same movie, there are just 2 duplicate covers. You have no idea which one you are choosing to play. What I am requesting is either slap on a 4K label on the cover for example or if after you click on the cover and it brings up the run time, actors, desc…

Channels needs to differentiate when there are 2 or more of the same Movie!

We totally understand this and want to get to a point where we're combining movies, but it's complicated. But we plan to get to it this year. For now, you should have metadata that shows on the movie view. Are you using Android? I think it's not showing some tags, which is incorrect. It should show HD, 4K, Atmos, etc. so that you CAN tell the difference. I'll look into it.

+1 to overhauling dupicate items. With so many sources in CDVR dupicates are bound to happen.

I would like duplicate items stacked and to default to priority level. BUT have somewhere in the show a drop down in case i want to change source.

This feature should be added to my long list of damands I would like completed. If you dont accomidate my demands. . . Ok, theres no real consequence.
