Live sreaming?

I just installed Channels tonight and I am still banging around in the interface tying to figure things out. What I thought was possible was for me to bring some of the channels From StiRR in to the guide. so that I can watch and or record them inside the app. I also would like some things like NASA, EWTN and news channels like news max that are free Online, I believe some where I seen there were some TVE channels that don't need any log in since I don't have cable or other paid TV provider
Is there a Easy to understand guide to add what I'm looking for somewhere?
sorry if this is covered somewhere but I have yet to find it and thanks for the help.

To get TVE channels in Channels DVR you have to use a Provider. Even a free trial of one.
Once you get the channels from that Provider, people have stated the "free channels" continue even after you cancel the trial. Everyone using TVE gets the "free channels", no matter which provider they use.

Here's the current list of 68 "free channels"

Ok Thanks

I'm still a little lost here

I go to gethub and download the zip file for SriRR and I'm a little lost as to what to do after that.

the list of free tve channels many of what I'm looking for. how do I add those? seems like I need to sigh up for some kind of trial? like maybe direct TV stream? is there a recommended service? I only have an antenna and comcast internet here?

To get started follow the guide to add custom channels below as a m3u playlist.
Use https://nocords.xyz to grab the url and guide. That will give you a 'free' bunch of channels to get you started. Consider donating to hank as he is maintaining the hosted server.

To get more premium channels, you need to look at TVE and a compatible cable subscriber

Awesome! I figured out how to get the Pluto and stiRR channels in. Using the link made it very easy wince I found the place to paste the links. That's way more than enough for me. In fact so many I have to set favorites and only show those or it too much to sort through. Thanks god for that Feature.

Thanks and happy new year

Yeah heaps of content. I dont use Pluto much but the feature is great. If you dont already use it, Channel collections are great way to customise lists of channels to suit your own use and navigation

Yes, you need to have a CableTV or OTT provider to get TVE channels in Channels DVR.

If you want to record cable channels, you need to select the Provider that will give you the channels you want. You can select them here to see what TVE channels work with Channels DVR.

If you just want the 68 "free channels" you can trial any provider (usually one month free trial) and cancel the trial.

TVE also offers some locals in some areas through a setting in the DVR web UI. To get these you need to have a Provider account that supports them. PBS is no longer available as they went DRM with their streams.

I get ABC,NBC, CBS,FOX, PBS and a handful of sub-channels with my outdoor antenna, 50 in all some duplicates though. It would just be cool to get a few things that are not carried local. StiRR and Pluto cover most of the stuff I was looking for and more. I'd still like to see one or two out of market things like KTLA and WGN, but not sure it' worth the effort. There's now so much available to watch. I'm good but maybe this is something I can tinker with if I get bored.
