I have Python. Haven't used it in a while.. I'll take a gander at your links. Thanks!
Unfortunately the only fix i know if is to create a gmail account specifically for channels and don't enable 2fa.
I found using one of the other options including ADBTuner to be the best option.
For some users it works, for others it doesn't.
Some users are able to make it work running in a docker container, but for other users that doesn't work.
I believe Aman's statement here
Also, see Eric's post
If/When they figure it out, it will be posted
I finally got YouTube TV to work with Channels on my Synology NAS (1513+).
SOLUTION: I used Synology Quick Connect to access the NAS, added a new Gmail account with just the username and password for security, and added YouTube TV to Channels. I have received most of the YouTube channels, except for a few, like CMT.
NEW ISSUE: I wanted to watch the local news on the West Coast, so I gave it a West Coast zip code when I set up the account on YouTube TV. When I watch the YouTube TV app on Apple TV, with the Express VPN set to Seattle, WA, I can watch the local news on the West Coast without issues. But watching the West Coast news with Channels gives me my Texas local news.
NOTE: Express VPN (Seattle, WA) was installed on the Synology NAS when I added YouTube TV to the Channels.
Any thoughts?
CMT (and other channels from the Paramount group) is not available with TV Everywhere anymore.
Were you still on your network when you accessed it? How does accessing it different change the result? Are you using channels in docker?
What is an ABD Tuner?
I just signed up for a YOUTUBETV trial and had no Problem setting up TVE of course I use windows ... I gave up on docker and UBUNTU because of problems with XFINITY TVE.
All I got was a Prompt on my phone "was it me signing in" and I answered YES.
congratulations
You know what is really weird is on the Account I used I have 2fa enabled ... it prompted me once was that me trying to login ... I responded Yes and it scanned all channels without asking again.
Yes, I was still on my home network, Watching Channels and YouTubeTV on an Apple TV. The Channels Server is running on my Synology NAS. While watching the Channels app on the Apple TV, with a VPN set for the West Coast, the Channels App shows the Dallas local station, while the YouTube TV stations show the West Coast local stations. It is like Channels is ignoring the VPN on the Apple TV.
That is expected behavior, whether the client is connected to a vpn is irrelevant.
Doing a trial to look at switching from Hulu to YTTV. I am receiving the subject error with the exact screenshot as others posted above. I am running the latest pre-release.
Are there good steps or tips for addressing this?
I submitted logs for my hulu issues, but thought I would check here before submitting another round of logs for YTTV.
Time to start learning how to use stuff like ADBTuner.
TVE is pure junk not missing a thing.
Create a gmail account just for channels and add it to family share.
Possible solution to YouTubeTV
HARDWARE: Synology NAS, with Channels Apps (not Channels docker)
Like everyone else, I was being blocked by Google/YoutubeTV. Here is what I found.
Step 1: Create a new Google account. (NO Passkey or 2FA.) Just the username and password. PW has no special characters, just numbers, and letters (upper and lower case)
Step 2: Do NOT subscribe to YouTubeTV, yet.
Step 3: Sources--> Add Source-->TV Everywhere. Add the new Google account.
Step 4: Channels will try to connect. It added the basic free channels. (ABC News, CBS News, etc)
Step 5: Once completed, THEN I purchased a NEW YouTubeTV subscription. (Trial discount).
NOTE: I tried to use my existing YouTubeTV account, but it did not work.
Step 6 Once the NEW YoutubeTV has been set up with the NEW Gmail account, then return to CHANNEL--> SOURCE --> MANAGE (youtubeTV)-->RESCAN CHANNELS. It adds the eligible Channels (Note: TVLand, CMT, etc are missing)
When I set up the NEW YouTubeTV subscription, for LOCATION, I used a zip code in Montana and ran ExpressVPN/Seattle on my Apple TV. I can get the local channels on the YouTubeTV App in Montana. Just make sure your VPN is on your device. On the Channels App, the local channels are my home local channels. Hope this helps. This worked for me.
Are there any instructions for setting up ChannelsDVR in Docker? TIA
Haven't seen an update here in a while on this topic. Any new info on how to get YouTubeTV TVE to work?
Despite having all secondary authentication off on my Google account, when I try to add YouTubeTV TVE source, Google not only pings my phone to verify it's me, but then challenges me to pick the number shown on the other device (which I can't see until after it times out on Channels and shows me the error). Sure I might get lucky and pick the right number (33 1/3% chance) every once in a while, but it typically issues multiple challenges in the process. I used to just get asked if it was me and answering yes was sufficient, but now that Google has added this extra challenge, not sure how to get through it.
It's been working for me.
